CreateDebate
What are you trying to decide?

Welcome to the first edition of the CreateDebate newsletter. We want to start by thanking you for all of your help testing the site. The feedback to date has been great, and we encourage you to continue to give more as we love hearing from our users. We've been hard at work preparing for the Public Beta launch and have recently rolled out some new features that we hope you'll like.

New Features

The CreateDebate Blog
Now it's easy for you to get a behind the scenes look at CreateDebate and keep in touch with us via The CreateDebate Blog . Keep tabs on what's going on at CreateDebate headquarters, what new features are coming, and what debates are driving us crazy.

Challenge Debates
Want to challenge another person (maybe one of your allies or enemies) to a 1-on-1 debate? Invite them to a Challenge Debate by clicking the "Challenge to a Debate" link on their profile or directly from the People tab by clicking "challenge".

Conversations
Now it's simple to send a message directly to another CreateDebate user by starting a Conversation with them. Just click on the "write me" link on the People tab or write them directly from their profile under Conversations.

Online Status
Want to see who else is on CreateDebate at the same time you are? Now you can see who else is online directly from the People tab.

Pitch Dingman Competition
CreateDebate entered and won our first two business plan competitions hosted by the Dingman Center for Entreprenuership at the University of Maryland. It was a great win for us and we are really excited to use the prize money to help us launch the site to the public. We also look forward to forming a partnership with the Dingman Center to help us reach more people and get more debates going.

How You Can Help

Many of you have asked how you can help us to spread the word about CreateDebate and build up the content to help us prepare for launch. Besides creating new debates and adding arguments to existing debates, there are several other ways you can help us out.

Send Beta Invites
Send Beta Invites to your friends directly from CreateDebate. By inviting them to the Beta they will receive the Invitation and will be pre-approved to use the site. As you know, the more users we have on the site the better the debates will be, so please invite all of your friends and family to CreateDebate.

Add CreateDebate to Other Websites
Link directly to your CreateDebate profile by adding the HTML code under the My Profile tab labeled Widget. Simply copy the code in the gray box and paste it in your profile on any site or blog that permits HTML (i.e. myspace). The widget will always display your current pic and will link your friends directly to your CreateDebate profile.

Invite Friends to Debates
See a debate that you know one of your Allies or Enemies would be interested in? Invite them to it by using the "Share This Debate" tab on the submenu of that debate.

Get back to the action!

Thank you again for all of your help in making CreateDebate the best debating site on the Internet.

Warm Regards,
The CreateDebate Team
