Liberals and Conservatives are both wrong about Islam
Now first off I'm going to make some broad generalizations about conservatives and liberals, obviously there is a lot of variability in these views, but I think the following does a decent job of representing the current state of political discourse. Now let's get started:Liberals are wrong about Christian Extremism being equal in severity or extent to Islamic Extremism. It is not, not even remotely. Perhaps this was the case in 1480 but it is not the case today. The usual comparison of the Westboro Baptist Church to ISIL epitomizes the flawed nature of these comparisons. The Westboro Baptist church has never killed anyone. There is no comparison to be made. Conservatives are wrong that Islamic Extremism is the result of the inherent violence of Muslims or of the Quran. If anything the Quran contains fewer justifications of violence than the Torah. The violence in the Islamic world today has historic and geopolitical causes. The Christian world was much more violent in the middle ages, and there are historic and geopolitical reasons for this, as there are historic and geopolitical reasons for the violence today.

From the language of the Bill:"An affirmative consent standard in the determination of whether consent
was given by both parties to sexual activity. “Affirmative consent”
means affirmative, conscious, and voluntary agreement to engage in
sexual activity. It is the responsibility of each person involved in the
sexual activity to ensure that he or she has the affirmative consent of
the other or others to engage in the sexual activity. Lack of protest
or resistance does not mean consent, nor does silence mean consent.
Affirmative consent must be ongoing throughout a sexual activity and can
be revoked at any time. The existence of a dating relationship
between the persons involved, or the fact of past sexual relations
between them, should never by itself be assumed to be an indicator of
consent."
I've noticed that some of the more vociferous/zealous believers come from very troubled backgrounds, or have had terrible life experiences. PI've met a number of former alcoholics who have used religion to fight their addiction, or elderly people to manage their anxiety of death. Do you feel guilty debating these folks online, as if you are kicking the crutch out from under them?
An Article on EVERYDAY FEMINISM: 6 Ways I Was Taught to Be a Good Fatty (And Why I Stopped)http://everydayfeminism.com/2016/04/taught-to-be-good-fatty/"1. Good Fatties Exercise
I want to start by acknowledging that gyms and exercise classes are not always financially accessible, never mind fat-friendly. Trainers and fellow gym goers can make the experience of exercising in public totally humiliating. "2. Good Fatties Eat Right
Fat people often won’t eat in front of others or will go hungry in order to look “good” eating the “right” foods. 3. Good Fatties Diet
Fat people often feel pushed to try new diets, sometimes highly risky ones, in order to appear like we’re “behaving.”...You get the idea.Thoughts?
Burglar steals owner's car radio and the owner chases down the burglar, the burglar swings the radio at him (from a bag), the owner stabs burglar to death. Man pleads self-defense.
One cannot accept one supernatural belief, reject another supernatural phenomena and remain intectually honest. If it is possible for God(s) and angels to communicate with humans it is also possible that evil spirits/demons would deceive us into believing the wrong religion. What if the Bible or Koran is the propaganda of evil spirits to trick humans into beliving and worshipping a false God? On what grounds can a Christian or Muslim dismiss this possibility? Anything and everything that convinces them of the truth of their religion can explained as supernatural deception or propaganda? Once you accept any supernatural possibility you open the door to all of them.
I have AT (Annual Training) all of march. So don't expect me to respond to anything in that time as I won't have internet access. I am mobilizing in May and about two months after that I will be in Afghanistan for the second time. I will have internet access in Afghanistan but my time will be greatly restricted, so don't expect to her from me too much if at all.
