When people of faith join a religion, such as Christianity, why do they become lofty, arrogant and condescending in their nature when they are meant to become simple, kind, honest and caring? What can be done to prevent this from happening?
"Michel de Nostredame (depending on the source, 14 or 21 December 1503 – 2 July 1566), usually Latinised as Nostradamus, was a French physician and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become widely famous. He is best known for his book Les Propheties, the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted a following that, along with much of the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events. Most academic sources maintain that the associations made between world events and Nostradamus's quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so vague as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power." -wiki.orgA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3oS4lWK0uoB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RT_A2Hi-_i8C. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9kSY_cz_Q4D. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLCU_NQZwo4E. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpMOje-zZ60
due to different types of religions practicing in various countries of the world, the world cannot go together. Music, arts , education, science etc are the discipline where all the people of the world have common goal. but one big thing that pull us back is religion
God 1. Do you believe God has a plan for you? That he intervenes and will help in someway in your life? Is he omniscience?2. Is religion mostly based on geography?3. Is the Bible believable? Is it like most ancient Greek religions?4. The Bible is full of contradictions.5. Is God a loving God?6. Do u believe that God does not cause disasters to happen but instead he allows it?7. Is God sinless? Is killing a sin?8. Am I responsible for my father's or ancestor's sin?9. It's sexist.10. Someone who never heard about Jesus would go to hell11. The Bible is full of terrible stories that are very related to God.12. There is absolutely no evidence of god13. Big Bang. 0=1-114. And lastly, babies go to hell1. If you believe so, then your God is not a just God. If God planed who you were going to be the son/daughter of and knows everything u will do, you have no true freedom; he decides who goes to heaven and hell without you actually having a choice. Example, today I saw this kid eating ice cream on my way home and it made me hungry so I decided to buy ice cream....If God didn't send that kid, I wouldn't have bought ice cream, but since God did send the kid, I ate ice cream. It appears I had the choice but all along God knew my future with and without the kid. If God didn't allow this or that thing to happen, you wouldn't have been saved, and since he knows the future, he is making you do what he wants and chooses.2. Yes, it is. Ex if I was born in Africa I would most likely not be Christian. If I was born in Spain, I would probably catholic.3. The old testimony is extremely unbelievable. It is also very much like Greek beliefs. Ex greeks used stories that explained things: why animals are like they are or why the sun comes up. In the old testimony God punished the snake to where it had to crawl on its belly which explains why snakes do not have legs(Note- why would God punish an animal with no soul that was really just the devil....and why would he punish all snakes for what that one snake did...that's a different story I'll mention later anyways...), and he also punished all humans, "men's days to be numbered to 120 years"....these sounds identical to how other pagan religions are. 4. (Genesis 1:31 God was pleased with his creation. Genesis 6:5-6 God was not pleased....this also is inconsistent with God being omniscience. ) 5. 2 Corinthians 13:11 mentions God as the God of love, so following the Bible yes, he is; however, in exodus 4:11 God makes people dumb, deaf, or blind....so it leads me to conclude that he is evil (Note, it does not say that he allows Satan but that he ,God, himself makes people like that)6. Is it wrong for a very strong man to stand by and watch as a weaker man beats up a little kid...who he could easily stop? I think it is just as wrong to stand by and watch as it is to be the one beating the kid, however that is just my opinion.7. Exodus 32:27 God ordered to kill. (Note- He did not have to kill...If he is all powerful, he could have achieved what he wanted without the murder or hundreds.)8. 2 Chronicles 25:4 states that Everyman shall die for his own sin. But aren't we all condemned for the sin of Adam and Eve? And how is that fair for us to be punished for their sins?9. 1 Timothy 2:1210. Someone who never heard of Jesus would not be able to believe in him and would therefor be sent to hell11. In judges a man named Jephthan made a vow with God and ended with him having to make his daughter into a burnt offering. (Another story- the flood, Salem, bears and the kids) The Bible is just one big horror story with a strangely happy ending.People literally let their kids die from preventable diseases because they believe god will cure them if they pray. Religion is willful self retardation at best and straight up dangerous self-delusion at worst.God is mad and punishing us for exactly what he knew we would do.And while I'm at it, I'm gonna go ahead and thank our him for killing innocent babies.
Hello:If there's sentient life on ANY of the billions of planets in the Universe, do they have a Jesus too?? I mean no disrespect, but how does religion deal with the discovery of BILLIONS of new planets every day? NASA says there are 100 billion planets just in our own galaxy, and there are trillions of galaxies in the Universe..https://www.nasa.gov/topics/universe/features/micro20120111.htmlexcon
Is it explainable without a God of any kind? Where did the energy and events for life to somehow come on a planet so perfectly sized and distanced from it to have a life-enriched atmosphere... Unbelievable...The aliens did a good job with the big bang, I pray to them to guide me every day and they do. Oh they do.
State your case for each of these topics.1: Evolution vs. creationism.2: The effect that religion has had on humanity historically, both in general and in regards to christianity specifically.3: The nature of causality and why God's existence would or would not be a causal paradox. These are the central issues pertaining to the validity of monotheistic faith, since the vast majority of religious people on this site are christian I am expecting this debate to mostly consist of christians vs. atheists but if you are not a christian but you still believe in some form of god or creationism then just pretend that in section 2 I said "in regards to whatever your religion or belief system is specifically"
Why do Christians decorate their houses for Christmas?
Hello:The other day, I
was driving through the boonies on a very lonely road, when I spotted a
house WAYY off the beaten path beautifully decorated for Christmas. At most, maybe two or three people will see it. Why do they do that?excon
So, let's have ourselves a little thought experiment. Let's say that a god, specifically one of the many versions of the Christian god, were to make itself appear and provide evidence that it did exist, and it did in fact create the universe. It then declares one particular branch of Christianity to be the correct one, and that all should follow its teachings, both in how you should live your life and what happens to you after you die. Of course, this could fall on a spectrum anywhere between actually following the transcribed word of Jesus and loving your neighbor with little to no mention of an afterlife, or the Westboro Baptist Church.Would you worship that god? Whether or not that god demanded it?At what point should we be morally obligated not to worship that god, but to instead collectively try to kill it?Looking forward to reading your thoughts.
accuse atheists of HATING them.. As an atheist, I've consistently
argued that we DON'T hate.. We simply don't BELIEVE.. HATE is NOT in
the equation. I don't believe in four leafed clovers either, but I
don't HATE them.Seems to me when an "atheist" openly proclaims that
he HATES God, he's NOT an atheist. He's a person who's been SCREWED by religion. What else could it possibly be?A person like that gives atheists a bad name..excon
There is still a debate about whether or not christmas is really christ's birthday. Hell, there's still debate about whether or not Jesus existed at all. Christmas looks like even less of a legitimate christian holiday when you consider that pagan cultures used to celebrate the winter solstice around this time and many traditions, such as ornamenting trees and keeping them in your home, actually have pagan origins. Are these simply modern day perversions by the NWO or something or is christmas just not christian to begin with?
Halloween was originally called Samhain. It was originally believed to be the time when the veil between the spirit world and the physical world is thinnest by the Celts. I have no idea why this ancient holiday is so popular now but it was originally a pagan tradition. Since the modern tradition of halloween is so removed from it's original context, many christians treat the holiday as an excuse for kids to dress up and get candy from strangers. But there are also many christians who call it satanic, and disapprove of the dark and evil things that are often made light of and celebrated on this day.
“The greatest jihad (struggle/striving) is to battle your own soul, to fight the evil within yourself.” Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Who is better? The creator of the universe or the one responsible for all it's woes? well actually since God created Satan does that mean everything Satan does is God's fault? I don't know, that's why I created this debate! Is God a loving creator or a malicious tyrant? Is Satan a lowly deceiver or a righteous rebel? I am an agnostic who wants to see theists and deists battle it out with atheists and satanists.
“The ‘goyim’ are not humans. They are beasts.” (Baba Mezia 114b) “If you eat with a ‘goy’ it is the same as eating with a dog.” (Tosapoth, Jebamoth 94b) “Even the best of the ‘goyim’ should all be killed.” (Soferim 15) “Sexual intercourse between the ‘goyim’ is like intercourse between animals.” (Sanhedrin 74b) “When it comes to a Gentile in peace times, one may harm him indirectly, for instance, by removing a ladder after he had fallen into a crevice.” (Shulkan Arukh, Yoreh De ‘ah, 158, Hebrew Edition only)
