Less than a week after the Federal Government declined to bail out Lehman Brothers from going bankrupt, they orchestrated an $85 Billion bailout of AIG. Do you think the government should continue to bail out companies with taxpayer money, or should they let Capitalism play it's course and allow the companies to fail?

AIG executives are slated to receive over $165 Million in bonuses for their work performed in 2008.  In the same year, the US taxpayers have given AIG $170 Billion in bailout money to cover massive losses at the company.  AIG claims they are under contract to give the executives these bonuses and need to pay them in order to retain "top talent".  Barack Obama has vowed to try to block the payment of these bonuses.  Who do you agree with?

Many people have debated on either side of the issue, some saying that AIG is too big to fail, and some saying that it's best for the country if we let it fail.

Is AIG "Too Big to Fail?"

Many companies, governments, and individuals and their families have taken the initiative to convert from petroleum-based and other fossil fuel based energy to renewable sources.  However, plastics, gasoline, tar, and other daily products are still derived from petroleum and the world doesn't appear to be able to function correctly without these in large quantities.  

Many politicians oppose exploration and drilling for petroleum in and off the shores of the United States, and the industry overall has declined in the country, as opposed to other countries.  

Even if the industry does not survive in the United States, it may flourish in other countries that depend on the industry for most of their economy. 

As Obama ponders who is the right person to tap for the ever-more-important role of Treasury Secretary, he must take a close look at their plans for stimulating the economy. Some have called Obama a Keynesian economist, but many wonder if that's the best theory.

For those non-econ geeks out there, Keynesian economics is essentially a theory that the best way to stimulate the economy is for the government to step in to increase spending, either by increasing the money supply or by actually buying things on the market itself.

The emphasis in the Web 1.0 environment was content e.g. Brochure web sites. A feature of web 2.0 environments is the facility for users to be able to collaborate. Do you believe it is more important for users in a web environment to be able to share information - COLLABORATE - or read information - CONTENT.

Teens should be encouraged more to have jobs and save money at a young age.

I know people that are almost 20 years old that have never had a job. Then I go to work at the grocery store and see people in their 40's and 50's at a cash register.

Something is wrong here.

Don't you think that all teenagers should start working and saving money earlier? So that they can get those crappy jobs over with?

The penny

We all know pennies are too worthless to carry too many around at once.  Of course, it's used as spare change by some.  Do you use pennies?  Do you go out of your way to get rid of them? Do you save them and turn them in at a coinstar machine years down the road? (This works.  My parets accumulated over $1,500 in 13 years of spare change) 

What do you do with pennies?

Every debate on here claims computers and the Internet as great accomplishments. Has any other accomplishments been done in the last twenty years?

How would you go about it? What would the age limit be for people to be able to smoke it? What new restrictions would you place for people under the influence? Would people be allowed to smoke it in public? Are there any other laws you would place around the legalization of weed?

I've had a lot of jobs, and my favorite days are always the last. Recently I quit one of my jobs, and right now I am experiencing my last shift. They're always just like any other day at the office, but with a sense of hope, wonder and fear mixed it.

I haven't planned on telling my douchebag boss off, but I really want to. It wouldn't be hard, but I'd much rather just say, "You're not paying me to tollerate you anymore, so peace." If I did tell him off it would be epic, and I wore a hot little white dress just to let him know what he's gonna be missing.

With the US economy going to pot and the rest of the world suffering from our mistakes, what can one do?

Without a decent job, a person is tempted to start a business of their own. But is this a good time? How would you go about doing this? Why?
