Everything that is happening over there is just crazy. It is never-ending. Nobody can reach any kind of meaningful agreement because each side (and supporters of each side) believe they are right. Let's see who can present the best arguments and the best evidence. I am genuinely curious to hear arguments from BOTH sides.

Now, most of the folks I've met on here have bee pretty intelligent, sensible people, but this is going to be interesting just the same.

Todays teenagers do not read as many books as a teenager even 10 or 20 years back used to. Why is it so? Is it because other forms of communication, learning and entertainment have taken over the ever popular "book" or is there some other reason?  What do you think?

So my mom was watching Tyra Banks so she could fall asleep.  On it, the slogan stated that "Gay is the new black."  Interesting... How come?  Some people argue that gays are going through a similar plight today that the black community of America went through in the 1960's.  Do you think the two can compare?

I'm not asking if it should have been somewhere else, I'm asking if you thnk they made the right choice in moving the prisoners.

whether you like to admit it or not, everyone is pretty damn stupid with the decisions they make.  no one, not even myself, is above that, and it's time someone pointed it out. Whether it's acting stupid, or saying something stupid, or making stupid decisions, people are just plain stupid at one point or another in their life.  Yes, people are intelligent, but even the smart people make the stupidest choices sometimes.

I was just on youtube, when I saw that "Super Size Me" was a featured video.  I decided to watch it, since I haven't seen it since 8th grade and it reminded me how so many people are confused on who to blame for Americans being so overweight.  Many people think it's the fast food reastaurants' faults for not advertising nutritional information, while others think it's the individual's fault for going in to the restaurant and buying the food. 

Both arguments are valid.  These restaurants are very cheap, serving some of the cheapest meals in America.  Some people have no choice but to go to McDonald's and buy their food because they can't afford anything else.  At the same time, people think that those who are addicted to fast food should not be going to the restaurants and buying the food there.  This would make more sense with smoking; we don't need nicotene to live, but we do need food to live, which is what the fast food chains serve us. 

So who's faulty here?  Who is to blame?  Should we be making healthier choices at places like McDonald's or should these places try to make healthier food?

What has ever stood out to you that someone said or that you read that just completely made you want to base your perspective of life off of?

World leaders on Tuesday endorsed halving world emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050 but stopped short of tough, nearer-term targets. The G-8 leaders are calling this a significant step forward in the battle to stem the potentially dangerous rise in world temperature. However, many critics disagree, saying that the leaders need to set aggressive near term goals to begin moving down the path of reduced emissions. What do you think?
