Many people have debated on either side of the issue, some saying that AIG is too big to fail, and some saying that it's best for the country if we let it fail.

Is AIG "Too Big to Fail?"

Many companies, governments, and individuals and their families have taken the initiative to convert from petroleum-based and other fossil fuel based energy to renewable sources.  However, plastics, gasoline, tar, and other daily products are still derived from petroleum and the world doesn't appear to be able to function correctly without these in large quantities.  

Many politicians oppose exploration and drilling for petroleum in and off the shores of the United States, and the industry overall has declined in the country, as opposed to other countries.  

Even if the industry does not survive in the United States, it may flourish in other countries that depend on the industry for most of their economy. 

Most people think it's collapse would cause immense harm and that we should do everything in our power to prop it up. Others think that "the economy" should fail and it's demise is long overdue.

As Obama ponders who is the right person to tap for the ever-more-important role of Treasury Secretary, he must take a close look at their plans for stimulating the economy. Some have called Obama a Keynesian economist, but many wonder if that's the best theory.

For those non-econ geeks out there, Keynesian economics is essentially a theory that the best way to stimulate the economy is for the government to step in to increase spending, either by increasing the money supply or by actually buying things on the market itself.

Less than a week after the Federal Government declined to bail out Lehman Brothers from going bankrupt, they orchestrated an $85 Billion bailout of AIG. Do you think the government should continue to bail out companies with taxpayer money, or should they let Capitalism play it's course and allow the companies to fail?

Alright, I don't know about you guys, but whenever I hit the box that says "Don't show this message again" whenever that message pops up saying "Tags are good ways of summarizing your debate......etc." it never works! The message always appears and it never doesn't appear unless I take the time to either find a tag I support or make a new one. Am I the only one who has this issue or are other people experiencing it too?!

We all know pennies are too worthless to carry too many around at once.  Of course, it's used as spare change by some.  Do you use pennies?  Do you go out of your way to get rid of them? Do you save them and turn them in at a coinstar machine years down the road? (This works.  My parets accumulated over $1,500 in 13 years of spare change) 

What do you do with pennies?

Teens should be encouraged more to have jobs and save money at a young age.

I know people that are almost 20 years old that have never had a job. Then I go to work at the grocery store and see people in their 40's and 50's at a cash register.

Something is wrong here.

Don't you think that all teenagers should start working and saving money earlier? So that they can get those crappy jobs over with?

Mum, I remember last week you said that I’m fantasising about saving for a new expensive phone.

Dad, when I first told you I was saving 300$ for a new phone you laughed and said “Yeah Right”.

I want to learn how to save my money. You tell me all the time to not waste my money on little useless things and save. Which now, I’m finally trying to do and you are taking the mickey out of it.

I have recently seen lots of kids at school spending their money on food at the canteen. The same ones come and go without thinking what they could really save and buy. To be honest that used to be me, now I’m changing that, and for good. Okay, so I may occasionally buy my lunch but that doesn’t mean I’m going to spend all my money at once.

So really the Question is... Do you ever wonder what kind of financial situation Graem or I could get into? Whether I’m poor or rich, there’s still going to be a chance where I will go through a hard time trying to save and pay for things. I want to save so that I will be ready for the future when it comes.

Kissing up/ brown- nosing the only way to success or can one make it without doing these things?

The emphasis in the Web 1.0 environment was content e.g. Brochure web sites. A feature of web 2.0 environments is the facility for users to be able to collaborate. Do you believe it is more important for users in a web environment to be able to share information - COLLABORATE - or read information - CONTENT.

Social networking i.e. facebook, myspace , twitter are all banded at my company.  I'm in sales and it's a great way to get to know your clients and vise versa.  What do you think? 

An investigation into how Alaska Native corporations are landing billions in federal contracts found the companies have seen dramatic growth over the past eight years and said the contracting has totaled nearly $24 billion during that period.

The Senate Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight, headed by Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., released some of its early findings Tuesday, in advance of a July 16 hearing she plans to hold on Native contracting. From 2000 to 2008, only one-fifth of all contracts awarded to Alaska Native corporations were performed in Alaska, McCaskill's committee found.

It also found that last year Alaska Native corporations received 19 percent of all federal contracts awarded to small businesses.

Special contracting rules for Native co rporations have allowed them to "qualify for large contracts while circumventing the normal competition process," McCaskill's office wrote in its report. About 70 percent of those contracts were awarded through the Department of Defense, which gave Native corporations contracts for security and maintenance at military bases, among other services.

For anyone at the workplace, you are well aware of the fact that a suffix (or credential) extends far beyond the typical "MD" or "PhD".  The use of "MBA", "PMP", and a host of other industry specific abbreviations are starting to popup after people's names more frequently than they had in the past.

Is it socially acceptable to add these 'lesser' credentials?
