I believe if a student WANTS to take a gun saftey class absolutly, they should have the choice to do so. On the same token you can`t require students to take a gun class if they don`t want to. Plus schools are not the place to teach a student how to use a firearm, but should be alowed to give saftey classes.And for primary shool to.

Should cellphones be allowed in school? Even though they can be used for good reasons, like calling your parents to pick you up. Unfortunatly they are used for disruptive purposes also, like texing in class or playing games. So this is a tough decision, at least to me.

To the best of my knowledge the model has its origins in the American military, but has been promoted widely, particularly as a basis for the design and development of self-paced e-learning. ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) has been criticised because of its rigidity, its waterfall-like flow (down but never back up) and because hardly anyone really uses it in practice. On the other hand, alternative models (or the use of no model at all) can be accused of being too fluid and potentially wasteful. So, is it time we kicked ADDIE into touch, or is the problem that we haven't been taking it seriously enough?

It's a very self-explanatory title. What are your opinions? The only starting point I'd like to add is that I am a believer in the opinion that the Technological Singularity is a very possible event within my remaining lifetime. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity If it does really happen one day, what then? It could be very good or very bad. Either way, it'll mean that technology will rule our lives.

Regarding: school performance, mental abilities (i.e. math calculations), social abilities, world awareness etc. "Technology" meaning use of and reliance on, not existence of. For example, does the use of calculators for children in elementary and middle schools decrease the ability of the child to perform mental math him or herself? Alternatively, is mental math needed now that efficient and complex calculators exist? As most users of CD are teens, try to be objective.
