Not least among these issues lies the separation of Church & State. Some claim that The United States was founded on Christian principals and should be operated as a Christian nation. Others claim that the founders were specifically trying to prevent such a thing from occurring.   What is the true purpose of the Establishment clause, as you interpret it?

Is this going against separation of Church and State?

The pool I lifeguard at is a city-owned pool open to the public. Tomorrow we are closing the pool eary so that a church and come in and have a huge baptism in the pool. Doesn't this go against the separation of Church and State? And if someone starts to drown from that point on and I (being jewish) jump into the water does that make me involuntarily converted to Christianity?

All religious symbols will be outlawed and religious instutions dismantled.   Secularism with religious freedom Religion will not be permitted to influence the body politic of the nation and no law shall be passed nor enforced which favors religion. Religious institutions will be free to establish themselves and to actively recruit followers and to conduct rites of worship as they see fit so long as said rites do not undully impact the State.   Church rule This nation shall be rules by the law of the New/Old Testament, the Torah, or the Qur'an. God's law shall prevail and only one religion will serve as the voice for all.

EM230 Virtual Church Debate (fall/12)

ARGUMENT FOR:  Virtual technology allows the church to creatively reach those unable to engage a  physical church setting due to a variety of reasons.  To provide a solely virtual church experience is a  modern way to fulfill the Great Commission of Mathew 28.  God gave us the ability to reflect him by  creating amazing technologies, let’s use it!   ARGUMENT AGAINST:  Virtual technology poses a great threat to the mission and function of the Church.   Attending church from the safety of personal privacy encourages individualism and independence from  God and his divine structure.   A computer generated person isn’t real and can’t replace the Acts 2:42  experience.  Virtual technology will do more harm than good!
