the oil needs to be re-routed so it stops going into the water, since the caps arent working to plug it.  the best way to do this would be to either drill a hole in the pipe before where the leak is, and add a new pipe that will  be able to suck all the oil to a floating tank. This way the oil will be sucked up through the new pipe before it reaches where the  leak is in the original pipe. or, if it is possible, to at least lower some kind of tube/pipe that will go right over the leak and stop it from dispersing into the water. that tube will then re-route the oil to a tank that can hold the oil. once the oil fills the tank it can be replaced. this may not be a permanent fix but it will surely stop the oil from getting into the water. with that being said, i also believe that BP should not be allowed to keep any of this oil or be able to drill anywhere in the u.s again.

Oil is the lifeblood of modern civilization. Yet it is finite. It is being used at an uncontrollable rate. How many things you use everyday are made from oil? Fertilizers, paints, medicines, tires, fuels, screens, prosthetics, bags, artificial organs, communication lines, roads, shoes, cables, electronics, tools, bottles, pipes, synthetic clothing, windows are all made from petroleum. The transportation industry is run mostly on petroleum. Most of our energy comes from petroleum.   What happens when we run out?

It is general knowledge that when Qaddafi started causing problems in Lybia, Britain and France were the main supporters whereas America provided little backing. But when I hear that Colonel Gaddafi's been killed I turn on Channel 4 news and the question they asked what would happen to oil rich  Lybia? I then switch to another channel which was showing a clip of Obama's speech, from which he talked about the United States sudden support for the Lybian people. The question I immediatly posed was: are they taking oil again? Creator's Note: You may take this literally and argue against this point, which is perfectly fine, but I'm hoping more of you will take this as the joke it was intended to be, of course the US probably have better intentions than to steal oil from poorer countries, but you cannot help to see how some could tkae it another way.

The White House Oil Spill Comission found recently that BP and its affiliates (Halliburton and Transocean) were negligent in their creation of the Macondo well. The companies took shortcuts and cost-cutting measures during the creation which culminated in structural failure, the deaths of eleven employees and the leaking of about five million barrels of raw oil into the Gulf of Mexico. It is reported that the government oversight comittee for the well, The Minerals Management Service, lacked the authority and expertise for the duty, and is even suggested that the oversight comittee was overtaken by the very companies which they were intended to be monitoring. My question therefore is: Does BP and its affiliates' roles in this disaster illustrate a glaring weakness in the market's ability to regulate negative and irresponsible behaviours?
