One of my friends believes that white people cannot be victims of racism. I've already disagreed with her, but she believes that the current definition for "racism" was written by rich, white, men in the 1900's. We've dropped the subject by now, but I was wondering what you all think. :)
Okay, all you ever do is post about gays. All your insults involve gays. You are 100%, totally, against gays. (From what I've seen). But you've never really laid out your reasons in a clear format. Whenever someone disputes you, you return with insults and anger. Nobody is going to take your opinion seriously unless you can be understood.
So in this debate, I want you to lay out every problem you have, and let others dispute you without getting upset.
I really am curious to know your reasons.
During the holocaust, the Nazi doctors conducted experiments on Jewish men, women, and children, in much the same way that current scientists use lab rats. For example, if the scientists wanted to know more about hypothermia and it's effects on the body, they would submerge a jewish person in ice water for hours at a time to view the results.
Much of this data isn't valid or useful, but according to a few scientists, some of this data is valid and useful to scientific experiments today.
My question for you:
Is it morally okay to use this data in scientific experiments to further our knowledge in the medical and scientific field?

You've probably hear of this question before. When discovering someone's personality, does nature or nurture have more of an effect?
Nature is how much of their personality is genetic, what they were born with.
Nurture is how much of their personality was caused because of their envirement, how they were raised.
So, what do you think?
Does nature or nurture contribute more to someone's personality and behaivor? `
This is called the Trolley Problem, and it was first thought up by Phillipa Foot.
The general form of the problem is this: There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. Unfortunately, you notice that there is one person on the side track. You have two options: (1) Do nothing, and the trolley kills the five people on the main track. (2) Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person. Which is the correct choice?
(Taken from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolley_problem)
My question is, what would you choose? Is it better to let 5 people die, or kill 1?
Many kids are home schooled, and my question is: Do you think that home school helps or harms the students overall?
On one hand, students get a much more personal education experience, but on the other, homeschooling can negatively impact social skills.
What do you think about homeschooling?
Dana's debate got me thinking about this, so I was just wondering, what do you think about "true love"? Do you think it's real, or just in movies?
I don't mean the dictionary definition. I mean YOUR personal definition. What do you think love is?
(In this case I mean romantic love...)
Also you can answer questions like: Do you belive that love exists? Do you think it's worth it? Basically any thoughts you have :)
NOTE: I'm sorry, I posted a debate similar to this yesterday, but what you all said about it really got me thinking...
Are you for it, against it, or don't you think it matters?
~I previously had this as a for/against debate, but I think it would work better as a perspectives debate.
Hi! So, the title's pretty self-explanatory.Feel free to be as offensive/opinionated as you want, as long as you have a legit argument.
No one will get banned just because I don't agree with your opinion. (I've seen moderaters do this in debates, and it always makes me mad... the point of this site is to debate, not to ban anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as you!)Ok thats all!Ready, Set, Go!
:)
What do you think about abortions?

There are many stories about how dreams are links to the subconscious, and they can tell us something about ourselves, and our subconscious. [ Dream Dictionary ] However, there are just as many people saying that dreams are just random images, random thoughts, or just don't mean anything at all.
What do you think? Do you think dreams can actually tell us things about our subconscious thoughts and wishes, or do you think that's ridiculous?
