Gender oppression? Racism? Religious fundamentalism? Or are conservatives really trying to keep everything wholesome and pure? Is it the dominance of the white race they want to conserve, or is it a particular way of life that seems right to them? It obviously isnt fiscality since our current progressive administration inherited the worst financial situation possible.
You have the right as an American citizen to own a gun. Does the current administration want to take your guns and gun rights away from you? Is Obama going to put a serial number on every bullet and shell? Or is our 2nd Amendment, pardon the pun, bulletproof?
Simple debate: Are we, as a nation, coservative by nature or progressive by nature?
The Louisiana Purchase was progressive. The expansion of the United States was progressive. The Apollo missions and the shuttle program are progressive. Civil Rights is progressive. Our election of an African-American president is progressive. The tech boom was/is progressive.
However, our collective values compared to a few other countries are by and large conservative. Much of our population cringes at the mention of the F word. Many European and a few Asian countries openly show nudity on primetime television, we do not. We have a large number of religious people in this country that are conservative.
With the country divided for the last ten years or so, is bumper sticker America finally ready to kill one another? Are Glenn Beck and Bill Maher dividing our country? It could happen in the form of riots. It could happed in the form of lynchings. In 2010 will we finally kill each other? Or is this recent turmoil in our country just how we get through things?
