Why are the majority of high-level educational facilities in the USA so liberal? Not only the teachers, but the students as well? Is there a correlation between intelligence and political leanings? Is there a correlation between age/experience and political stance?

The question I would like to pose is:Is there a big difference between conservatives in the USA and in Iran?Obviously, some are conservatively Muslim, and some are conservatively Christian. It seems to me they have similar viewpoints, even though they both hate each other (death to the West vs. The Quran promotes terrorism).The other option is that US Liberals are closer to Iranian Conservatives.

I know, there is a lot of stuff that we don't know. This seems stupid. But think about it, there are only a few major things we don't understand at all (where did life come from, for example). But looking at past methods for finding out the workings of biological systems, we can begin to hypothesize why things work the way they do, at an organic level. I don't know much about biology, but am surprised at how much we do know. What more is there to discover, and how much further do we need to go before we understand the organization of living things.Side-note: I won't ban anyone that thinks modern science is fake/God is the answer because it is always is interesting to see their views.

When my dad lived in Mumbai, the poverty rate was EXTREMELY high. Most people were unemployed, not because they lacked skill, but because there were not enough jobs in existence. There was a very competitive environment for jobs.My dad's friends, who came from rich upper/middle class families, got a job at McDonald's in High School by choice. They didn't care how much money they would make, so they were quickly hired because they would accept a sub-par salary from the restaurant owners.They wanted the job for fun, and for some extra money so they could buy comic books (no video games back then) and for fashion.My dad discouraged them because there were hundreds of people without jobs who *NEEDED* the job, and they were stealing the jobs even though they don't need them.Some teenagers *need* to work part time to support their families, but not all of them. So the question is this:Should local government require a valid reason to get a work permit, so that those that don't need a job don't get one unless many job opportunities are available? This law would only be applied to people less than 18 years of age.Or is it more important to be able to freely get a job no matter what the reason?

I want to understand why anyone would think guns should be accessible to more people AND why more powerful guns should be allowed. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I have identified myself as a liberal for a while, but now I am wondering about what I really am. I want people to be happy. That is both the liberal's and conservatives views. I have sided with liberals because I feel like they make more people happy, but when I look at some moderately conservative arguments I feel that they are equal if not better than liberal arguments. For example, do you kill the mom or the baby. Or, do you give people guns to make people safer, or do you take away guns to make people safer. In situations like these, there is evidence arguing both sides. I am very confused about my beliefs, try to convince me why your ideology is better.How does your political ideology help more people? That is the one thing your evidence must back up. I don't care about what is morally correct or incorrect. I would rather you kill a person to save 10 people than to let that one person make his own choice.Please tell me if I am being naive in any way.

How can people let Dogs be abused and slaughtered, and not do anything about it.Then I had an epiphany.Why do I care so much that Dogs are being slaughtered. The exact same people that find this troubling probably eat beef and chicken. What makes Dogs better than cows? Wild dogs don't even do anything except give people rabies. Cows, however, fertilize grass and produce milk. Similarly, sheep make wool but are also killed for food.So how come wild dogs can't be killed but cows can! I'm not saying dogs should be killed, I am suggesting that if they shouldn't then why should cows and sheep.This is how I see it, every person who is outraged because the Chinese are eating "cute animals" is a hypocrite. The only group that can oppose the festival without being hypocritical are vegans/vegetarians. Think about it, we have festivals were we slaughter thousands of cows.
