Well, this is an extremely difficult question, you see. There are billions of stars in the universe with many planets. What are the odds that there exists another planet sustaining the conditions to support life, much like ours. The probability is high! However, this is contradicted with the fact that we have not made any contact with any intelligent life ever. Plus, other planets/stars were created billions of years before ours. This has set up a time period of over a billion years for life to erupt, develop, etc. However, there are many complications with this potential life making contact with us. Look up the Fermi Paradox. It will explain more there.
