If a gay couple respects 'marriage' as a union between a man and a woman, why can a straight couple not recognize 'marriage' between a man and a man or a woman and a woman?

I believe it is personally legitimate to, a certain degree, allow judgments to be based upon a male's hair length. Hearken back to the sixties and seventies when people were sex and drug addicts, people have no choice but to relate and discriminate. While I do not agree that they are freaks, I do agree that it is entirely unnecessary for men to have long hair. What purpose does it serve? If you say it's your right to individuality, then you must be willing to make sacrifices for it. If you are applying for a job, you're sacrificing your individuality either way. It's your choice, there are pros and cons with each choice you make in life. I agree that it IS just hair. But people's looks are half of the first impression. Most males do not take the time to take care of their hair. They normally put it in a pony tail. Therefore, it looks incredibly unprofessional, greasy, and on top of that, immature. What purpose does long hair serve?

So it boils down to how you spend your time, and how you live your life. You may get muscles while exercising during a TV episode of Spongebob, but you also probably lost ten points of your IQ. While I understand your argument and thank you for your respect, I have a disagreement.

One of the reasons the Civil Rights movement for African Americans broke off from Women's Rights in the late 1800s because the Women's Rights would never be listened to or whatever, yada yada. In other words. Black leaders believed that the female Idealists were crazy and their purpose would never be listened to. But yet, both things changed. It was hard - Difficult to change, difficult to police. People died, but the Civil Rights Movement was successful anyway, correct?

However, I am by no means saying that this argument has a right to be scaled with the Civil Rights movement.

No. The rangers regulate the animal populations and keep track of endangered species. Taking their funds away would not only doom certain species (I.e. the red wolf, whose numbers reached as low as 17), but monuments like Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and other historical landmarks could not be preserved for future generations. Are you trying to deny your kids the opportunity to see some of the best things this nation has?

I believe this argument is absolutely pointless. If you are a drunk, and want equal rights, (which by the way you already do) why should it bother you if gays have rights? Are you jealous? This is Leviticus Chapter 18, a majority of it. Read it carefully. Do you see a place that says, "Do not have sexual relations with your daughter'? Yeah didn't think so. MEN wrote the Bible. God did not come down to Earth and pen it Himself. I am a very faithful Christian, and let me tell you. Men ALWAYS want what they want. They wrote those things in there because they wanted to sound right and just. They just happened to leave out the one that they enjoyed, incest between the father and daughter. Know why? Because back then, the daughter was considered property of the father. Since that's in the Bible, you want to go by this?

Or perhaps since polygamy is in the Bible, that makes it okay too, yes? You can't pick and choose what you believe the Bible says, you have to go by it all. Am I right?

If it were a black student being teased or harassed, the school would step in and have a fit.

Why is being gay/lesbian any different?

Think of all the games the 360 has that the PS3 doesn't. Think of the bonus things it comes with; Arcade, Live, Millions of other online gamers, free promos, free music stations. The possibilities are endless. The PS3 was just their way of an argument product to the 360 because the PS2 was losing money.

I actually believe it is, and have come to terms with this fact a long time ago myself. Speaking on a Civil Rights basis, Martin Luther King is one of my most revered idols. Many of his quotes relate to the hate that gays receive.

"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values

and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false

and the false with the true".

I wholeheartedly believe that if Mr. King was alive today, he would fight for gay rights. He fought for equality. Is that not what the gays want? Of course it is. So by denying them rights, and by saying that their movement has nothing to do with the Civil Rights movement, you are in fact saying that gays are less than whites, blacks, Mexicans, Indians, Native Americans, etc. Is that what you mean?

I do agree that the Civil Rights movement was largely more important in our nation's history than the gay movement, but they are similar. Scary similar.

As for what have gays endured? Ask them. They risk losing their jobs. Disowned by friends, family, and church. Many believe they risk salvation only because of their orientation. If you fall in love with someone who happens to be the same sex as you, is it under your control? Gays have undergone persecution very similar to the blacks. Some are murdered. Some are publicly humiliated and kicked out of their homes. Did you know that? I am friends with such people. Do not say what you do not know; it's called false information.
