Alright! I subscribe to the Muse Magazine Of SCIENCE!!! And in volume 18 number 3 (March 2014) the article "File not Found?" By Maia Szalavitz, specificallly explains why you have a significant learning disadvantage what you read on an electronic device. Quotes as evidence: "[He] explains that you can recall something in two different ways. You either 'know' it and it just 'comes to you'...or you 'remember' it by reminding yourself about that context an then arriving at the answer. 'Knowing' is better, because you can recall the important facts faster and more easily. 'What we found was that people on paper started to 'know' the material more quickly over the passage of time... It took longer and required more repeated testing to get in to that 'knowing state' when they read on a computer'"

The article is much longer but I don't got the time to cite all of it but yeah there is my evidence with a logical quote to prove that iPads will give you a learning disadvantage.

Hmm... Okay give me a few days and I will provide proof for you ;)

Unfortunately people are looking for the first girl president and although many may like her, she can win because people want something new.

1 point

Uh which side are you on? You clarified an irrationalist but you posted on rationalist

2 points

That's exactly what I was thinking! And besides, there are plenty of other people that would do anything for money... As of right now with the few testers in this world they are payed a heck of a lot of money.

Besides, you can get a humans consent but we would never know if an animal wants to. (Probably not!)

PROVEN FACT:

You are much more likely to forget what you read when looking at pixels in comparison to a real book. And besides, taking care of books gives responsibility and also if you cannot have your phone/iPad you can still have a tangible book.

1 point

And do you have some proof? Saying "of course" doesn't give a logical or convincing argument. Especially in a debate. Must have proof.

1 point

Universe is defined as everything.

You cannot have everything twice.

Therefore, alternate (more than one) universes may not exist.

So you are saying you believe the myth to be false...? I don't understand your point and which side you are on.

I love cats. I also have the sweetest black cat ever. If I was in an alleyway and saw a cat, I proably would run towards it and try to hug it.

But seriously, luck can be broken down into pretty much just random events occurring in a secession. There are 2 non-dependent variables in this case; the black cat walking perpendicular to you and an accident or tragic event occurring shortly afterwards, it has nothing to do with the cat or even the coat color as the variables are non-dependent (assuming, of course, that the cat doesn't directly hurt you)

But also this is kinda racist to the black cats. Kinda history repeating itself but with a new species...

See? Death and sadness. Made we want to just sulk in my room for a few months.

1 point

You may want to clarify yourself, as right now your leaning on both sides.

1 point

No, although characters may have a tendency to lean to one side when faced with a problem, there is a lot of depth and growth of characters.

For instance:

Voldemort was not always evil, as we can see in his childhood.

Hermione has a tendency, when she's upset, to have wrong judgement and jumps to conclusions. Malfoy is a coward, but at first he is a bully and we don't see his weakness until book 5. Snape has only jumped sides once and after never, ever betrayed Dumbledore, even at the end , as shown with the flashbacks.

And with Harry himself: yes he does! Unless you haven't read carefully, would would see that his manner of bravery changes significantly. At first he tries to rescue everyone, but at the end he realized that he had to have a new type of bravery to face voldemort for the second- to- last time, and performs it successfully. And their is proof his mind doesn't work the exact same way through all of his school years.

Also, we have seen:

Hermione act on impulse, not logic

Voldemort have some kindness (specifically, nobility and manners)

Harry has used logic in situations

And Snape, as we see, has really stayed on the good side the whole time.

There are many other characters you may see as steriotypical, (like Neville) but reading carefully shows real development.

And besides, you "Never seen or read Hunger Games". That doesn't give you a lot of credit...

1 point

How could you say that? Hunger games is just a story of death and sacrifice and government take over. It's hard to feel for any character. My emotion when watching/ reading the Hunger Games: :/

On the other hand, Harry potter is know for the compelling backstory and we really can connect with most of the characters. We root for Harry all the way through and can laugh and cry along side him.

1 point

Okay, sure "dystopian" over "utopian." Still never happened.

Also, I stated the technology in the hunger games could never happen, not the sacrifices (which anyways, isn't germane to this topic)

Harry Potter also has other references to real life

1. Placed in the real world with famous locations

2. Hogwarts is based off of a real castle

3. Other time periods, like the "Salem Witch Burnings"

But, both movies would never be able to occur because of the technology and magic, (as Hunger Games technology is their magic) and your point that hunger games is more likely to exist is invalid. No incredibly rare combination of events could produce either movie.

And anyways, Harry Potter is better.

If time travel was possible they why have we not seen anyone come here from the future?

Exactly.

1 point

But they are still in the same instance of time as the rest of the universe- they have not gone back to a separate time all together.

0 points

Although that may be true, the phrase time travel consists of the ability to "bend time" as you like.

2 points

I say no. Although there are some suitable social media websites for kids, many of them still could have mature content or have a way to get you in trouble. For example the new (and stupid) BurnBook ended up in a teenager threatening a school near me.

Do you really want your kids possibly looking up not so nice topics or posting them themselves? Even if they keep to appropriate topics, they would be wasting time to be active, do homework, or do some actual activities besides staring at a screen.

0 points

Real? You call a utopian futuristic/technological situation in which we sacrifice our own kids (sometimes happily) more real than Harry Potter? I mean, there is nothing in the hunger games (that makes it original) that could be possible.

Hunger games= death, doom, and depressing ending.

Harry Potter= magic, discovery, and a phenomenal bitter-sweet ending.

Case closed.

Yep, she is my favorite. I love magic, and the person playing her voice is amazing. I also like her attitude and her single '' Let it Go'' always inspires me.

Not quite perfect, but I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is cool to be a human

That. Would. Be. AWESOME!!!! But then instead of an eagle i would be a raven because their intelegent and can use logic
