Pd 8:

Tybalt ia innocent because Romeo killed Tybalt in revenge of Tybalt killing Mercutio. For example, when Romeo states, "Mercutio's soul is floating right above our heads . He's waiting for you to keep him company on the way up to Heaven..." (III.i.149). Therefore, Romeo is clearly stating that since Tybalt killed Mercutio, then Romeo believes Tybalt will join Mercutio on his way to Heaven. This shows that he is innocent for the death of Romeo because Romeo killed him first and he was not alive to influence the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Pd 2:

Tybalt is guilty because without Tybalt Romeo wouldn’t have been banned. For example, when Prince states, “and for that crime Romeo is hereby exiled from Verona” (III.i.153). Tybalt is guilty because the whole fight between him and Romeo started because table killed Mercutio. Romeo then stood up for my cushy his honor, killing Tybalt. When Prince found out, he banned Romeo. The banning of Romeo is what led to Juliet and Romeo having to find a way to be together resulting in the death of Romeo. Therefore, if Romeo never killed Mercutio in the fight, Romeo wouldn’t have died.

Pd 2:

The Capulet parents are guilty because they put their satisfaction over loving their daughters feelings, which made her risk her life for love. For example, when Lady Capulet states, “do as you please because I am done worrying about you” (III.v.203). In addition, Capulet also states, “if you don’t act as my daughter you can beg starve and die in the streets” (III.v.205). The Capulet parents are guilty because they believe that if Juliet doesn’t listen to what they think is best for her, they will disown her and shut her out of their lives. If her parents would’ve given her support she would not have gone to such extremes to be with the one she truly loves, Romeo. Therefore it is their fault that she killed herself.

Pd 2:

Juliet is guilty because she forces Romeo to kill himself. For example, Juliet contemplates if she should take the potion and questions, “… What if the fryer makes the potion to kill me?“(IV.iii.227). This quote proves that Juliet is guilty because she was more concerned about her own self. She wants to be with Romeo and she thinks everyone has disgraced her. When she drinks a potion she made Romeo believe she was dead so he ended up killing himself. Therefore it’s her fault.

Pd 2:

Friar Lawrence is guilty because he came up with a plan and kept secrets. For example, when Friar says, “go home, be merry, give consent”. Friar Lawrence is guilty because if he would’ve never made the plan, no one would have died.

Pd 2:

Nurse is guilty because she is at fault for not stopping Juliet from killing herself.

Pd 2:

Romeo is innocent because he followed the plan to wait in Mantua, but was told incorrect information regarding Juliet. For example, Friar Lawrence says to Romeo, “take a little vacation in Mantua. I’ll find your servant and he’ll update you now and then on your case as it stands here” (III.iii.181). To clarify, Friar is making a plan for Romeo to follow because he’s banished from Verona and he has to leave his wife, Juliet. Friar John talks to Friar Lawrence, and Friar John states, “ I couldn’t send it. Here it is. I couldn’t get a messenger to bring it to you either…“ (V.i.257). To clarify, Friar Lawrence sent a letter to Mantua through Friar John, but the letter wasn’t delivered to Romeo. Since Romeo didn’t receive the letter, he never found Juliet’s plan, therefore he’s innocent because he did what he was told.

Pd 5:

Capulet is innocent because he tried to give his child, Juliet, the best life she could have. For example, Capulet states, "Goddamnit! It makes me mad, day and night, hour after afterm all the time, at work, at play, alone in company, my top priority has always been to find her a husband. Now I've provided a husband from a noble family, who is good looking, young, well-educated. He's full of good qualities ... an she refuses!" (III.v.201). This quote proves Capulet is innocent because he is trying to pick her a husband that will take care of her and treat her wlel. He is a goo father and would want her to marry Paris . If she would have married Paris, she would have never been in a situation where she had to choose life or death. But, marrying Romeo is what lead to her death, so this proves Capulet never had anything to do with Juliet's death as he was trying to set her up for a good marriage.

Pd 5:

Friar is innocent because he is a man of God and looks for the best solution. For example, when Romeo wants to get married, Friar says, "This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your two families into pure love" (II.iii.103). The Friar is innocent because as a man of God, he believes that there is hope for the family feud. He hopes that the marriage would end the feud and the families would be friends again. Therefore, he is innocent because he only wants what is best.

Pd 5:

Nurse is innocent because she helps Romeo and Juliet get married. For example, when she talks about Romeo to Juliet and their marriage plans, she states, "He's not the most polite man in the world, but he is gentle as a lamb" (II.v.127). She also helps Romeo and Juliet be married when she states, "Here sir, this is a ring [Juliet] asked me to give you. Hurry up, it's getting late" (III.v.179). These quotes prove Nurse wants Romeo and Juliet to be together because of her helping them.

Pd 5:

Romeo is guilty because he knew about the feud between Capulet and Montague families, but married Juliet anyway. For example, when Romeo states, "I hate my name dear saint, because my name is your enemy" (II.ii.83). This quote proves that Romoeo is guilty because he knew she was a Capulet and he is a Montague, but wanted to be with her even though his love woud put her in danger. For these reasons, Romeo is guilty for their deaths.

Pd 5:

Juliet is innocent because she was technically not even her own person. She was her parents property, therefore, the blame goes to them. For example, when Capulet calls his daughter worthless, he says, "You disobedient wench" (III.v.201). This quote proves that Juliet is innocent because she was forced to be a submissive, quiet shell of who she could be. During this time period, she would be considered her fater's property until she was married and clearly he doesn't think much of her.

Pd 8:

Romeo is guilty because he killed Tybalt with witness to the crime. For example, when Romeo is fighting Tybalt, Taybalt states, "You wretched boy! You hung out with him and you're going to heaven with him (Mercuito)!" (III.i.147). Romeo replies, "This fight will decide who dies!" (III.i.149). This shows how Romeo is guilty because in this scene, Tybalt and Romeo fight in front of Benvolio and others. This scene shows that Romeo engaged in the fight and killed Tybalt. Romeo is now marked a villian of Verona as he is banished to Mantua, leading to his own death.

Pd 8:

Capulets are innocent because they weren't involved in Juliet's life. Back then, if you were wealthy, you had a Nurse take care of your child and parents didn't have much to do with the child's upbringing. For example, Nurse says, "Yes, I know her age down to the hour" (I.iii.39). This quote by Nurse proves Nurse raised Juliet instead of Capulets. Lady Capulet didn't even know Juliet's age and Nurse knows her age down to the hour. So, her parents are not responsible for her or her actions because they know nothing about her life.

Pd 8:

Juliet is innocent because she was very young and just didn't know what she wanted. For example, when Juliet discusses marriage with her mother she states, "But I won't let myself fall for Paris any more than you permission allows" (I.iii.45) Juliet is saying that she will marry Paris but a couple hours later, she marries Romeo instead. This proves that she is young and doesn't know what she wants because she changes her mind often.

Pd 8:

Benvolio is innocent because all he wanted to do was to help Romeo feel better about his love life. For example, when Benvolio helped Romeo through his breakup he states, "I'll show you how to forget, or else I'll die owing you that lesson" (I.i.27). This quote shows that Benvolio wanted to help Romeo because he wanted to fix his broken heart and would die trying.

Pd 8:

Friar is innocent because he just wanted to marry two people who were in love. For example Friar states, "...come inconsistent young man, come with me. I'll help you with your secret wedding. This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your families into pure love" (II.iii.103). This quote proves that he has no intent to have them kill themselves. He just wanted to marry two lovers who were from different families who hated each other and thought this would end the feud.

Pd 8:

Nurse is innocent because she was always there for Juliet. For example, Nurse states, "on the night of Llammas Eve she will be fourteen. I remember it will be eleven years since the earthquake. She stopped nursing from my breast on the very day" (I.iii.41). This quote proves that Nurse was always there for Juliet, even as a little baby, and she wouldn't have ever tried to hurt her since she raised her like her own.

Pd 7:

Nurse is guilty because she was messing with Juliet's emotions and pushing her toward marrying Paris. For example, Nurse states, "...or if Romeo is as good as Paris, Romeo doesn't live here, so you don't get to enjoy him" (III.V.205). Nurse is saying that the only option Juliet has is to marry Paris and that pushed her over the edge to kill herself.

Pd 7:

Romeo is innocent because he only killed Tybalt for killing Mercuitio. For example, when Romeo says, "... Mercutio's soul is floating right above our heads. He is waiting for you to keep him company on the way up to Heaven. Either you, or I, of both of us have to go with him" (III.i.149). This proves he is innocent because he is avenging Mercuito's death.

Pd 7:

Benvolio is guilty becaue Benvolio told Romeo to go to the party and forget about Rosealine. For example, when Benvolio said, "Do it by letting your eyes wander freely, look at other beautiful girls" (I.i.27). Benvolio is guilty because he forced Romeo to go to the party and meet someone new. If he didn't, he would have never met Juliet which led to his death.

Pd 7:

Juliet is guilty because se stabbed herself to death with Romeo's knife. For example, when Juliet says, "...oh, good! A knife! My body will be your sheath. Rust inside my body and let mee die" (V.iii.275). She killed her own self, therefore it is her fault why she died.

Pd 7:

The Capulet parents are guilty because they didn't really care for Juliet. the only reason they had to care when for Juliet marrying Paris. For example, Capulet says, "...forget about you, you worthless girl, dis disobedient wretch! I'll tell you what. Go to church on Thursday or never look me in the face again!" (III.v.201). This quote shows that the Capulet parents don't actually care for Juliet. They just want her to marry Paris and if she doesn't, they never want to see her again.
