Not really an atheist, but more so agnostic. Unless I was under the influence of copious amounts of drugs or in the midst of a psychotic episode I would obviously have to change my view. But in all honesty though, it could happen and all I'd think would be "I really need to see a doctor for these hallucinations".
We get tax breaks and duty free goods, which you have to live on-reserve in most Provinces to obtain. I don't receive any benefits apart from being able to say I'm of aboriginal descent.
Again, likely a U.S.-Canada difference. Aboriginals are potentially the most racially discriminated group in Canada.
This may be a Canada exclusive thing, but in Alberta aboriginals are treated in the same sense as African Americans are in the U.S..
As awful as it is, people stereotype Aboriginals as leaches and drunks. Again, it might be exclusive to Canada as they aren't given the same benefits as in the U.S..
Spanish co-existed with aboriginals for the most part. Spain had no direct intention of exterminating Aboriginal populations like Great Britain did.
Although initial arrivals had other intentions, Queen Isabella for the most part considered Native Americans to be equal citizens under her rule, although to be converted. Inter-marriage between Spanish and Aboriginals was also common, as they arrived without families, the British however, arrived fully loaded with families. Great Britain simply wanted to exterminate the population to nothing, of which they almost succeeded. Spain didn't treat them with the greatest respect, but they didn't flat operate a genocide like the Brits did.
FYI, the Spanish also settled almost a century before any English speaking settlers arrived.
I think you'd better learn Spanish, it is one of your official languages after all. I don't live in Quebec, but I'm perfectly fluent in French.
And in the event of your theoretical situation, French and Spanish are nearly identical so I should have no problem.
That was a right-wing extremist, who will likely spend the remainder of his life in cold cell. He admired an array of Right-wing leaders such Trump, Le Pen, and others.
The argument you just made nullified your previous one that "Minorities are violent".
I'll be completely honest when I say this, but don't let any other Canadians know I told you this...
Ketchup chips are a reality up here and they are the worst thing in the world.
That's about the most horrific thing about Canada that I'm aware of.
Spanish is an official language in the U.S.....
This is similar to me complaining that French-Canadians don't speak English. If you don't like the strong Hispanic population, maybe the U.S. shouldn't have stolen claimed land from Spain (Which was a solid chunk of the south and west.), which is the same reason I can't complain about French Canadians.
They were here at the same time, we just ended up with the territory through violent invasion and expulsion of les Acadiens to the U.S..
