Oh my, I'm honoured...and to think, I haven't logged in for months; it was pure happenstance that I saw this debate today. I love all of you!

So, he's going against his personal beliefs? Sounds like a pretty flaky messiah.

I am in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Doesn't your religion ban homosexuality? I guess even the Almighty has his temptations...

Oh hm, it seems that way...I will dig it up again once this long and grueling road trip I'm on has come to pass.

Dude, come on, don't make this about Britain vs. America...I don't have the energy to argue with you again, to be perfectly honest. Young fools who talk like this are worldwide; US, UK, Japan, France, Spain, Germany...the list goes on and on. I am in complete agreement with you: electronic language should not be legalized, it is a barbaric form of communication. But it really has nothing to do with America or Britain...

I disrespect Runescape because -- oh, wait...I remember now. Runescape is that poorly made, graphically abominable and altogether abhorrent attempt at an MMORPG that only lonely 13 year-old boys who haven't figured out how to masturbate yet play.

Almost forgot.

7 points? My, oh my! Srom's magic alternate accounts at work once again. I'm saying you're stupid because all you do is make pointless arguments, then cheat your way to the top with alternative accounts. That's wrong.

Wow, something on which we can agree! A Frenchman wouldn't do well here...he'd enter into a debate, then surrender to the first person to disagree with him ;)

No, but those who can't even spell a simple word like "racist" might.

New York is awesome. My hometown, New York is the most beautiful city in the world! It's the cultural, business, and social capital of the world, and it simply can't be beat. The things to do in New York are endless, and the atmosphere is just alive! In Los Angeles, you'll quickly find yourself in a hot, smoggy wasteland, full of stoned-out bums and tanned-to-death starlets. Keep it real. Keep it New York.

I can't recall a war every being fought over science.

It's barely a great superpower

What, pray tell, constitutes a great superpower? I suppose having the world's strongest economy (until very recently), the world's strongest military, some of the world's most brilliant minds, an unthinkable amount of natural resources and a rich culture that is an amalgamation of dozens of European cultures doesn't suffice? Plus, when you take into account its youth, the USA could be called a wunderkind of sorts.

American history is mostly made up

This is just plain garbage, coming from the most bitter, resentful, anti-America, pro-Britain debater on this site. America history is rich and fairly modern, making tracking of the history quite simple. Its records are neatly kept, and if you had the slightest idea what you were talking about, you might realize that.

American culture consists whatever pukes out of their televisions

I suppose you want to act all high and mighty when the likes of Fry and Laurie and Monty Python are rerun on your networks day after day? American culture is rich and complex, ranging from the educational capital of the Northeast, to the endless icons of Americana in the Midwest, to the world's foremost film industry in the far West. Personally, I believe television in general is nothing more than useless drivel, but to demerit American culture to "puke" coming out of televisions? That's ignorant, plain and simple.

the same applies for their language

I'm sorry, but if I'm not mistaken, we speak a language called English, which, again, correct me if I'm wrong, comes from your beloved homeland of ENGLAND. Yes, we've taken certain liberties with the language, but referring to it as "puke" (seems to be your favorite word) is as much of a slam against the UK as the US.

They brainwash their generations with garbage about being a country of freedom.

America is an incredibly free country, and if you don't realize that, I simply feel sorry for you. Besides, the thought that we're the only nation to "brainwash" our youth with thoughts of freedom is absurd. Britain is equally as guilty, my friend.

They carry guns

I agree the gun laws in the US are out of sorts, but this is such a poor argument against the US!

They pretend to be better than countries in Europe

While some Americans may act this way, the majority of us don't. And those who do are very nearly justified to do so; national pride stretches back thousands of years! Every country thinks they're better than all the others.

and to top it all off they don't even have an empire.

Oh, God forbid we don't have an empire! Let me apologize in place of my country, shall I? I'm terribly sorry that we haven't taken over every square inch of land we see, greedily decimating other cultures to make way for our grand empire. I'm sorry that we haven't been a cruel master to our very own colonies, becoming the estranged mother to our helpless children. The fact that we don't have an empire only goes to show that we understand our limits, and we aren't trying to impose any more than we already do on other countries! I couldn't say the same for the UK.

For all these reasons, I would say that the USA is indeed a great country.

i dunno just where you been

maybe close but then again

i been wrong before and i can’t recall

the last time i saw yer face

in any kinda friendly place

i guess i’ll rest here up against the wall

water’s only green and blue

it’s taken an unlucky few

but distance plays his cards to always win

sometime when yer hair is long

i’ll sit beside you and sing this song

from the bow of some great ship we’re livin’ in

REFRAIN: an if you hear a bugle blowin playin our old tune

don’t pay it any mind and i hope to see you soon

you left me when the sky was pale

early mornings on the trail

were far behind as i sent you my regards

i think that you’ll come back this way

but that morning when the sky was grey

i don’t believe i ever tried so hard

from wakin’ up til afternoon

an later neath the stars and moon

throughout the day yer always on my mind

an as you walk the sun-bleached street

in that lovely barcelona heat

i’m just a guitar player who’s gone blind

REFRAIN

just yesterday i walked these woods

past the fields an wheat that stood

blowin in the breeze from off the sea

an i can smell that ocean air

salty sprayin as i stare

into the mountains looming over me

here i’ll stay for evermore

until you knock upon my door

just take the only road without a sign

i’ll see you comin up the drive

an my empty heart will come alive

someday when we meet on down the line

REFRAIN

They are the bane of my existence...the reluctant white whale of household chores, but not so difficult to catch. Back when I was just a kid, I had a gig washing dishes at a restaurant in NYC, and I had to wash dishes all day then come home and wash more dishes or get whacked with a wooden spoon! Growing up Sicilian in New York City...was an interesting experience.

Sonic is a hedgehog because his parents were hedgehogs. Real world hedgehogs aren't that fast, and who gives a shit what color he is? Also, why are blue and red the only logical colors? You are silly.

I like fantasy, particularly the Lord of the Rings, but I also enjoy dystopian sci-fi, particularly 1984.

Obviously no one forced you, since you used the horribly mangled and possibly made up words "elemtry", "econimy", "plument", and "wont".

I like your self-absorbed debates, they really brighten up my evening.

Mozart was the first in a line of legendary classical composers, and Beethoven would have been nothing without the Wolf. Personally, though, I think Satie was the most brilliant composer of his time, or anyone's time.

Remember Nixon? "If the president does it, that means it is not illegal." We all laughed our asses off at that. God sins constantly while murdering people with giant floods and things of the like, but he's not necessarily punished for it.

Really? For an old man, I quite like video games...do I have to go out and buy this now? Because I'd feel silly asking my wife for it for my birthday...

What the fuck is plants vs zombies? Who the fuck would want to fight zombies with a plant?

I am left-leaning, but not without some right-wing tendencies...for instance, I am a preservationist, a transcendentalist, and a hawk. That being said, though, most of my beliefs lie on the left spectrum.

It depends on who you ask. As an American, I feel like I'm safe in my own country, and that we have allied ourselves with many other countries around the globe. Now, if you were to ask the Iraqi people which we were, they would likely say the latter. However, in America's defense, we did have the noblest of intentions when in Iraq...George W just happened to fuck things up.
