I think your argument is meant for the other side ._.

I'm no trying to be some smart person I just saying

I guess logically if you break it down, cares: form an emotional bond. So usually women are more emotional than men. Therefore form a more emotional bond which means they usually care more.

^These are very generalised statement

This argument is so childish and immature I wouldn't think that it was otherwise made by a child.

Yes uniforms also provide identification and pride. I guess an example of uniforms Promoting discipline is in the army, navy, airforce ect.

1 point

I guess in a way they "Promote discipline" but they don't always create it. At my old school we had a uniform but we had casual clothes days, on those day more rules were broken and we were harder to control.

People get "evolving from apes" and "sharing an ancestor" with them mixed up.

They are two different things, we share a common ancestor with apes (evidense we share 98% of DNA with them) but we did not directly evolve from them. This fact was twisted by religious groups against evolution

1 point

No it can't directly but it can provide financial security which can create a feeling of safety, this can lead to a relaxed life= happiness.

And in reverse a lack of money can lead to financial hardship which causes stress= less happiness

1 point

No, we don't need science to evolve, animals and other organisms have been evolving for millions of years we know this BECAUSE of science.

We can seethe world around us, we can see every morning the sun rises. But WHY? Science is the study of why and how things work. As long is there is curiosity there will be science.

Mandatory is not how I defined this topic, I interpreted it as should meaning to indicate duty. Children have a duty to look after their elderly parents. Like I said in my earlier arguments everyone's situation is different and I don't want to create rules that govern society. I just feel that looking after, as in regularly visiting or taking them to the doctor or out for a meal, is an admirable feat that could be considered a duty of children to care for their parents. Warranted it is not for everyone.

Only certain types of personalities are suited to the above professions/workplaces this is a fact regardless of gender.

Women should be aloud to apply for a position if they are not suited to the environment, they can leave just as males can.

I can see from you distinctive personality that you are an individual who doesn't accept or follow obligations and expectations that other make as you are independent and want to make your own decisions. Perhaps you have differing views from your parents or have experienced something negative regarding this personal issue.

True Kindness or "Decency" is defined as helping someone who has no way of repaying you. In their old age my parents will no longer have any way of repaying me but I will independently choose to do so anyway as I am choosing to be kind and decent. This shows character and integrity, it may not be in your list of morals but it reflects mine. It's like asking the question

"Should everyone be kind?" of course the answer is yes. BUT

"Will everyone be kind?" the answer is no. Substitute kind for look after their elderly parents* and you can see why I choose this side of the debate. Yes there are a long list of exceptions but at the end of the day if I was asked

"Will you look after your elderly parents?" my answer would be yes.

Okay, for a start- I NEVER SAID ALL PARENTS WERE GOOD

I said Children should help their parents in the way of taking them to the doctor.I also said that not every child should look after that parent "It's not that simple" I said.

NEVER said all parents were good

NEVER said ALL children should help out

I intend to and I hope my children do to, it's just the decent thing to do.

1 point

Your always saying "That's not always true" "Sometimes parents are bad" Sometimes children are bad" Sometimes this, Sometimes that.

You have a long list of exceptions but then you say "Parents choose to have children" Like it's in black and white.

What if it's against the family's beliefs to have an abortion or they can't afford it? Maybe some family members want to keep the child and not go for adoption, maybe they were to embarrassed to give their child up for adoption? Maybe they saw that as being weak and thought they were stronger than that.

1 point

Um hello? looking after your elderly parents can mean taking them to the doctor when they're to old to drive- It doesn't have to mean living with them

2 points

So you would never take your parent to the doctor if they were old and couldn't walk? You would never take them out for a meal if hey were lonely?

I would hate to have you as a child.

2 points

1st point-I think your missing the point, those examples you listed are exceptions to the rule.

2nd point-Not everyone CHOOSES to have a child sometimes accidents happen and whether a couple is ready to have a child or not doesn't matter.

3rd-Your young now but I'm sure when your older you'll want your children to come and visit you and take you places that you wouldn't normally be able to go. There's nothing worse than spending your elderly years alone, think about that before you reply.

This guy is HILARIOUS, yelling from a street corner! Faith in god is a blind faith until proven wrong. Suddenly this guy now agrees with some parts of science after the creation story has been proven wrong. Or rather the big bang proven right. NOW suddenly the big bang is apart of his religion like it was written in the bible. Blind until proven wrong.

1 point

I think as science becomes even more factual and more people start to see the logic and evidence behind the big bang theory they can start to understand. Yet they don't want to give up their beliefs so they just alter them to fit with scientific proof by saying "God created the big bang".

If this was true why is there nothing in the bible?

1 point

I don't know.... I guess parents GIVING BIRTH TO US AND RAISING US AND TAKING CARE OF US AND WORKING TO PROVIDE FOR US, there isn't anything we owe them.....

*sarcasm

1 point

Why don't you take a break from trying to psychologically over analyse everyone who disagrees with you. It's completely arrogant and just annoying as you don't know me at all. Even though I know nothing about you, you sound like someone who would breastfeed their child until they were a teen. But let me guess that sounds perfectly normal, oh sorry I mean normal to you as well. All I said was I find it awkward talking to someone breastfeeding and I wouldn't do it in public unless I had too.

0 points

It was hard o pick a side because I wouldn't react as "Wait...., what? No!!" but I wouldn't say it was perfectly normal either. Personally I wouldn't do it in public and sometimes when I see it happening I feel a bit embarrassed for the mother, I have nothing against it but I wouldn"t go there..

1 point

I'm not saying "Everyone must look after their elderly parents!" Because it's not that simple, I think children owe it to their parents to look after them in the way of helping them move into a nursing home or taking them to the doctor, stuff like that.

1 point

Well we all have the right to do whatever the fuck we want but whether it is "Right" morally or by society is an entire different question.

Fact: You have a higher chance of winning the lottery 7 times than being born, thats how great the odds are against that one cell becoming a human being.

2 points

I'm in my last year of highschool, I remember my teacher explaining to us in year 7 that the adam and eve story was just a way of explaining how everthing was made and that not many people still believed the story. But if one part of the bible was just a story, how do we know the rest isn't as well? Science is based on fact and proof, its not an opinion or belief, whether you choose to believe it is your opinion.
