Death penalty does not create fear amongst criminals, you ought to compare present crime rates in the US with those in western Europe and Canada where the death penalty is abolished.Crime rates (for violent crime) are higher in the US. Im not out of sympathy for criminals but I do think that the death penalty isn’t an effective way to prevent or reduce crime.
