Clearly, technology is like steroids for information. How will it benefit the human race? Or will it destroy us all?

The more people that own the media, the more viewpoints that will be expressed.

Use Kayak to look for airfare. It is a meta search engine that will save you a lot of time because it will search Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, all of the other airlines, etc. It also has some great historical graphs that help you figure out when the best time to buy will be. Here is the key: when you find a great fare, don't book it through an agent, book it on the airlines site directly. That way you won't have to pay any booking fees.

Use TripAdvisor to figure out what hotels you want to stay at. Once you find a few that look good, use a meta search engine to check for deals. With hotels you may have to book through a agent because hotels don't always offer the same deals on their websites (they're usually not as sophisticated). If possible, though, try to avoid the booking feeds.

Another good website to check is TravelZoo. This site is very hit or miss but you need to review the "Top 10 Travel Deals" because they do a nice job at hunting down the best deals. On more than one occasion I have changed my plans dramatically just to take advantage of a too-good-to-pass-up deal.

With that said, I think the notion of compulsory voting run counter-contrary to the underlying pinning of freedom in the United States. After all, why should we force people to do something that they don't want to do?

The last eight years have been a natural experiment of the trickle down effect. As convincing as it sounds, it doesn't work. In the same breath, I must declare that I believe in the invisible hand of the market and the capitalist creed.

Capitalism is an energy. It is the human energy of millions and millions of people bound together by an idea. However, the energy of capitalism must be harnessed. Unbridled capitalism (aka uncontrolled power) breeds corruption and, ultimately, destruction.

Obama's economic plan i a better economic policy because it is an honest crack at harnessing the jewel of freedom. There is a saying that I once heard: the world is like a game of poker, as the rounds pass the money consolidates in fewer and fewers hands. Those without chips must borrow to stay in the game. Once the losers can't borrow anymore, the game is over.
