Are TSA scanners that see through clothes ok?

Airport milimeter wave scanners mean they can see your entire body without clothes on. They claim they're blurring the face and pics get erased immediately, but it's only a matter of time before people start taking cellphone snaps of women off the screen. Or if famous people come through, those pics are worth money. If I fly, I'm not going through those things.

Why is there a ban on offshore drilling in the first place? Every drop helps, and if it didn't make economic sense, then companies wouldn't come in and do the drilling when the ban was lifted. That's the free market.

If they weren't openly religious, they would be hiding a piece of themselves. It's important to know if they believe in something like the church of alien visitors, because it helps people judge their intelligence. Most of the time they're just pandering to christians though.

Last I checked, we believed in innocence until proven guilty. Only in cases where there is clear evidence and the people have been arrested should the children not be with their family. Otherwise, if there are no charges, the kids should be back with the parents. That's the way the justice system works.

Creationism should be taught in science class so it can be shown that it is not based on facts and testable hypotheses. Once students understand the scientific method, it shouldn't be hard to show that Creationism is not science. A discussion of the differences between creationism and scientific theories is useful to prepare students for debates about the two options.

While people think of it as being a retirement fund, your link shows that the average benefits are 10,700, which is right above the federal poverty level, so it's clearly not a comfortable retirement. The United States has had a negative savings rate recently, which indicates that many people are incapable of making the correct choices for their own future. Or that they believe the government will help them in the end.
If Social Security is little more than poverty wages, then it really is more useful as the federal insurance policy that it started as.

I put it off until the last minute. I wish those people that just don't pay taxes were right and I could just never pay. It's ridiculous to assume that you're not going to get noticed nowadays though.

All of these statements have been made by the United States government over the past years. If you can find rebuttals for them, I'd love to hear them, but until then, I believe them. If you accept that terrorist organizations are funded by the drug trade and that marijuana is a gateway drug, then the third statement logically follows. If more people can use pot, then more will move on to harder substances, which will fund the terrorist orgs.

Marijuana fuels an apathy that is anything but what the US needs right now. Legalizing it would just put lots of new addicts on the streets, smoking up and dropping out of school. It starts people down the path to harder drug use. Billions of dollars go towards terrorist organizations through the marijuana trade, and they would get even more as people went experimenting from pot to cocaine and heroin.

All those things don't even add up to half of what china's going to be doing in a few years. All the developing nations are going to be burning down their rainforests and burning gas like crazy. Our consumption's just a drop in the world bucket. We need to find some way to convince people over there to cut it out, otherwise what we do practically doesn't matter at all.

Kids will be killing themselves if we lower the drinking age. Teens get years of driving experience before they can drink. Otherwise there would be lots more drunk driving accidents with drunk teens. These kids don't have the experience they need to drink. Maybe since we have such a big national debt, we could make a 100% tax on alcohol for 16-20 year olds to raise some money.

The first chicken would have had parents that weren't chickens. Some genetic mutation or random DNA blending would have caused their offspring to be different. So the first thing we could consider a chicken would be whatever was in the egg those pre-chickens gave birth to. In other words, evolution says the egg came first.

While we have lost many lives, there's little indication that what's happening there is doing any real good. Many soliders coming back think it's not. We're throwing billions of dollars down a never-ending pit of death.
More importantly, we're sending our soldiers to die in a situation where each death causes two more. If Israel and Palestine are any indication, the hatred towards us will never stop. Every day we're there, we get more enemies as we kill someone's friends or family. We have to stop wasting our resources on something that will never get better.
