I've not tried a Mac but my next one will be a Mac...just for the sound capabilities and far less vulnerabilities vis-a-vis intuders and viruses. IE? Because it's there and I'm used to it. If you think I should try Opera I will...let me know.
IE lags too much and has its issues with freezes and vulnerability. I had Fire Fox and something else from Mozilla but didn't like them at all. At the time Opera came out it was a browser one had to pay for and now it's free. I've always used an outside spell checker so that doesn't bother me. Windows spell check is from hunger...always was. I'm so used to IE or browsers that work from the IE platform it doesn't bother me but I'd like to have one that doesn't interfere with Windows that runs a bit more smoothly. If not, I'm still OK with this since I don't need the fastest graphics for X-Box or PS2-3.
I bought the XPS because it was the top of the line Dell and Dell had been recommended to me by a friend in the PC tech/repair end of the business. He told me that they hardly ever go bad and when they do it's only a matter of replacing a board. I bought mine (Gen2) and have been very happy with it. I didn't purchase it for games in the sense you mean. I simply wanted a great PC and I think I bought the best that was out there at that time.

Hi Bradf0rd...I know you didn't ask and I hadn't said anything as yet, but I took you off of my enemiy list, never to return there again. I've thought much about you and all this and realize I too, had a part in this. Allow me to own that part now...My sincere apologies for all the upsets between us. This is a debate site and bringing attention to both sides is key! You have the unmitigated gall to curse at me, call me names, insult me beyond belief and then tell me that I should "Learn to argue sportingly or GTFO my CD." SPORTINGLY? YOUR CD? You cannot seem to do anything but argue and belittle people...you cannot debate sportingly and this is not your CD.
The contest about the dead guy was supposed to be put in the "General" catagory...not entertainment. I don't find things like this entertaining at all. I find them shocking and I have never seen anything like it before. I was hoping that someone would shed some light on it for me.
I did put that debate under entertainment...where it belonged. Besides that, I sometimes tire of Politics and Religion. That was pure fluff!
