Anyone who says they don't care about points is denying a part of human nature, we are all competitive to some degree. The point system on this site needs some serious re-working... but wasn't it you I got into a huge debate with about the efficiency scores being used as part of that equation. ;)

Yes, it seems like the next generation has no idea how to use spell check. When I was a teaching assistant for 5 years I started to see this on the lab reports I would grade. I would tell them that this is not instant messaging or a text chat, you should spell things out (you for U) and spell things correctly. It became more and more common as the years went on. But in their defense language is some thing that evolves over time. Take the phrase 24/7... when I was a teen and said that my parents had no idea what it meant... now it is common place! =)

That is the problem with this site! It has become an opinion site where people feel that they can say what ever the hell they want and the personal attacks are unacceptable to me! I wish that the debate monitors would ban those people. People are not following the "rules" and "manners" of proper debate style at all, it is just a bunch of immature crap. I too, am wondering if I should leave the site. I don't mean to sound snobbish, but I came here for mature, educated, well formulated debates. This does not mean that the person needs to be highly educated, just that they need to be educated on the topic they are shooting their "mouth" off about! I am sick of some of the debates created recently... they are e-mail forwards and lame internet videos... this is NOT one's personal blog site. You know who I am talking about...

I completely agree that this site is slipping!!! In fact, I e-mailed the creators about it today an hour or so ago! I am sick of seeing people create debates that are meaningless, sick of the lack of spelling and grammar, sick of the name calling and personal attacks!

Are you doing ok? Some of your more recent posts have been attacked and I felt bad for the way you have been treated. It seems as if some of these topics are very close to your heart, and I know that it can be hard when others step on your feelings.

Ok, ok...I see. My spelling errors come from being an awful typist. Not from me not knowing how to spell the word. I hold somewhat of a spelling record here. Haha...If I misspell something it is most likely because I am a bad typist, not a bad speller. I go crazy over spelling. That program is really good. I usually don't have the patience for a spelling check, but this one works much faster on my laptop.
