Hey. Sorry but I deleted the debate that you made a post on because I goofed on it with the catagory and like it didn't even occur to me that you had posted on it. I'm sorry! ):
You seem like a trustworthy 3rd party for me to talk to, so I was just curious if I could steal a little bit out of your time and ask you what the benefits of going to college are vs going to a trade school? I'm leaning towards going straight to a trade school however my parents really think I need to go to college to be successful in the world, and I was just hoping maybe you could help me out? I'm sorry if this sounds out of the blue, which I'm sure it does, but I consider you as an intelligent person who might be able to shed some light on my current situation.
No problem. Just wanted to bring it up for other users who might get a little bugged. ^_^
Hey, i saw your post on Xaeon's profile. Um. . . well i think that the "most provacative" algorithm is a bit. . . well off. . .
Oh. Alright. Just curious cuz I didn't get any response to my last message. But ya, I'm glad to know you at least got it. [:
I think its a good idea. Your feedback has been logged. As soon as we stand up CD2008 (next few days) we're going to turn some attention towards improving reward points.
Oh. Alright. I know a little about algorithms already but it couldn't hurt seeing how you did it. [:
I explained it a little bit to Xaeon, check out his conversations.
Its automated. Each people sort method is computed by a different algorithm on the fly.
Who decides who goes where under the "People" specific cadegories? Because it seems like an aweful amount of work to me. Trying to find the right place for everyone on CD under a specific cadegory! Or is it generalized somehow?
Ah, good catch. I forgot to update the user profile view. My bad, I will take care of that today.
Really? Because I tried posting a comment on PolicyDebate's profile and it said that it exceeded the 500 character limit. . .
And you are partially correct. The picture is Joker putting a "smile" on Pikachu's face. [;
Nope, still at 1000. I am seeing your pic correctly? Is that the Dark Knight slow-dancing with Pokemon?
I think you're misinterpreting that rule a little bit. We definitely encourage linking to other websites. That rule is just trying to make sure nobody "spoofs" CreateDebate by creating a website that just shows CD in a frame.
By the way, that 500 character limit was pissing me off too. I just upped it to 1000. Hopefully that will do the trick.
Alright. What I mean is in the User Agreement it states "User may not link to the Website in any manner that would bypass Company's home page. User may not "frame" the Website or any portion thereof." I may be misunderstanding what it means, but what I get from it is that it is saying is that the User is not allowed to give a link that goes to any other portion of this website other than the homepage (www.createdebate.com)
I get your drift. Believe me, our philosophy is to let the community figure out what is appropriate via voting. We don't ever want to intervene but there are some cases where it is clear that a line has been crossed. No worries, nobody is pissed off or anything.
What do you mean by "the linking to bypass the company's home page"? I don't follow...
Like rules are cool and all, but how many of them are enforced? Just ones that protect this website from seeming to be offensive and rude right? I'm not trying to be hypocritical, I'm just simply pointing out, from my perspective, things in those rules that aren't as fully enforced compared to others. [;
Dang! The offensive stuff is the best stuff to debate about too! Lol. It's all cool though. But like I said, half of that stuff is broken every day by many users. Especially, I've noticed, is the linking to bypass the company's home page.
Our User Agreement is here. Check out the User Covenants section. Some of the language used in your debate is offensive to others and may inhibit some people from using and enjoying this Website.
I'm not trying to crack down on your or censor you in any way. Just remember, we built and maintain this website for the better good of all. We don't want to turn off new visitors by displaying offensive language on the front page.
I'm confused. That was marked as spam, but my other one "Should fat people considered Handicap?" debate was not. Please show me this agreement one more time so that I may read over it.
Hey, I just wanted to give you a heads up that the racial slurs debate that you created is not appropriate (and runs contrary to our User Agreement). It was marked as spam and deleted.
Yes. When you are viewing the debate that you want to delete, click the Moderator Tab (in the blue submenu bar). You will see a link at the bottom of that page that will show you how to delete the debate.
Hey. Is there a way to delete my old debates that are practically pointless? I think I have made too many and a lot are not hot topics.
Hey, quick tip: if you add an argument or two to your debates and then invite a few friends right when you create it, then the debate will have a much better chance of making the front page. Once there it will get a lot of arguments. I like that one about illegal immigrants...you may want to consider deleting that debate and recreating to help it get some traction.
