War is different. There are laws regulating law, and I don't know fully how jurisdiction would apply during a war. But that's an extreme circumstance, not the law. And international law will always override internal law outside of the US. But, like you quite rightly said, the US just seems to do what it wants regardless of whether it's legal or not.

"Hey, hope I'm not snooping too much, but I just happened to see what you put, and I disagree. Even other countries are affected by America's legal system. For instance, if a criminal flees the country while on trial, our legal system says to go capture him/her and bring them back, which directly affects the country the he/she is hiding in at the moment of arrest."

Actually, it's up to the other country whether to allow extradition or not.

If you want some advice, though, I can make a suggestion that, if followed, will do you alot of good.

Whatever it is you feel, go for it (unless it is illegal or unseemly). Explore your feelings and your desires, don't be afraid to ask people out; develop your skills in romance and social interaction.

Once you hit late college sexuality doesn't seem to matter as much. You've already pretty much found yourself (hopefully) and you've had sex quite a few times, experimented, found love, lost it, found love again...etc...etc....you get down to the technical stuff of finding and developing relationships, keeping them stable, and keeping your partner/ keeping them happy when you finally find what you're looking for.

Congratulations! I'll send you the 50% gay membership card. If you were gay you'd get half off goods and services at affiliated businesses but since you're Bi you'll get 25%. You'll also receive a nice welcome basket and a baseball cap which reads "Not gay but trying".

He was the previous UK Prime Minister. Totally sucked up to the American government, was probably Bush's biggest ally in the "war on terror," and has done more for the infringement of civil liberties than any PM before him. Basically, a total knobber.

It's no problem. The reason I went red was due to, in large part, to my agreement with its principles and the insight I got from its modern founder, Karl Marx.

I believe in equality.

I believe in the idea that we must share our resources and cooperate to be prosperous.

I believe that Capitalism's flaws are too numerous and its basic principles too unjust to be a viable system.

I believe that greed is not something that should be praised and established as the mainstay of any socio-economic system.

There's just so many things this world could be, and so many problems that could be solved if we switched to a more Communist system of socio-economic development.

I don't understand the question. Are you saying certain nationalities are not able to believe in certain viewpoints? Are you saying that someone who believes in a certain ideology that is not in practice in his or her home country should simply leave instead of trying to change things?

I think you're misinterpreting that rule a little bit. We definitely encourage linking to other websites. That rule is just trying to make sure nobody "spoofs" CreateDebate by creating a website that just shows CD in a frame.

By the way, that 500 character limit was pissing me off too. I just upped it to 1000. Hopefully that will do the trick.

I get your drift. Believe me, our philosophy is to let the community figure out what is appropriate via voting. We don't ever want to intervene but there are some cases where it is clear that a line has been crossed. No worries, nobody is pissed off or anything.

What do you mean by "the linking to bypass the company's home page"? I don't follow...

I am under moral obligation to correct you on the use of the word 'argument' it is actually a debating website.

Furthermore, I must ask why you'd be under the impression that I was talking to myself. It is clearly obvious to me (and everyone bar you) that the use of the word 'scum' was referring to ones religion and the large amount of arrogance. Ignorance isn't something one should be proud of and neither is falling for a bait, to test your real character.

If someone is hostile to you that means they have added you as an enemy.

For example if you look at my profile you can see that I've added no allies, I have not declared any enemies, and one person has declared me an enemy ;)

Don't mean to be spying, but I think your conversation with Xaeon about your views on religion are interesting and proceeding in a pretty good direction. I would keep exploring the idea you provided if I were you, could lead to some neat insights.

xaeon said:

That's a pretty warped view of religion if you ask me. There's a big difference between hoping for something to occur, and thinking that hoping for something to occur will increase the chances of said thing. You can't call hoping for something 'praying,' as the whole point about praying is that you are asking for a higher power to intervene.

I'm not religious in any sense.

(Part 3)

Cuba's policy on homosexuals has been negative up until recent times; Castro has softened his stance, his daughter is actually an advocate of homosexual rights and his brother, now the head of state, is likely to continue with enfranchisement of the homosexual community.

China, of course, has rather terrible policies concerning homosexuality. It is still illegal to practice it and jail-time/forced labor isn't unusual, especially in decades past.

AngeloDeOrva said:

(part 2)That was under Lenin; Stalin, however, reversed many progressive policies including the liberal stance on homosexuality. He criminalized it; which usually meant jail-time for male homosexuals and mental institutionalization for females (later men would end up institutionalized as well when the policy was relaxed).

Actually, no, not explicitly. Some Communist regimes did, others did not. The CPUSA's official stance is one of support and most socialist/communist parties in the west (Western Europe, Canada, USA,) are supportive of gay causes.

In fact, the Soviet Union initially had one of the most socially progressive platforms, even considering today. They were tolerant; if not condoning, of homosexuality and decriminalized it.

Hey, quick tip: if you add an argument or two to your debates and then invite a few friends right when you create it, then the debate will have a much better chance of making the front page. Once there it will get a lot of arguments. I like that one about illegal immigrants...you may want to consider deleting that debate and recreating to help it get some traction.
