Suns made a very risky trade. Shaq could very well be close to the end of his career, while Marion shines in prime. At first I was in favor of getting Shaq in my optimistic ways. I thought a move to a team like the Suns would get the big guy's gears going again. But to replace an all around player like Marion is a difficult thing, and I think they should have kept him.

I agree completely. Shaq was a great player in the 90's and early part of this decade, but he is getting up there in age (36) for an NBA player and his performance has greatly diminished over the past couple of years. Shawn Marion, on the other hand, is 6 years younger and has at least a few good years left in the tank. I think the trade was very short sighted to try to bring a big man in to Phoenix that could help them take down the Spurs and Tim Duncan. Obviously, this didn't work out too well as the Spurs barely broke a sweat against them in their 4-1 series victory.
