ABC News on cost of baby adoptions

I came across an article that says white babies on average cost about 35,000 to adopt while hispanic babies are around 8,000 and black babies come in at 4,000. So, is it discrimination against white babies/ white people or is the price difference due to more people wanting to adopt a white baby. Supply and demand.

Lacking the full context, but I will say that even if this is a consequence of market values then that in and of itself is discriminatory.

That's some bullshit, next we are going to hear white kids can get away with murder........Wait?

Ahhh never mind, that's some bullshit, just because that's some bullshit....Ahhh. that's some bullshit, there.

No all joking aside, this is our society saying that white people are of higher value , I think it's wrong.

Its disgusting that they charge anything for adoption. Again its something that would never be considered right in a European country.

However if the USA really need to charge to give children a loving home then I can understand why its less for ethnic minorities. It is very difficult to find parents of ethnic minority to adopt them. They tend to spend more time in care than white children.

Well... while our prices are extremely high (I actually had no idea they cost that much), Europe has fees of their own. The actual adoption fee is much less over there, but there are also legal and medical fees. The prices vary from country to country too.

So, anyways... just wanted you to know that you guys still do have adoption fees... even if they are significantly less than ours.

There of course are legal fees for an adoption order and there are medical fees if the child is ill. They are not costs charged by the state. These are the normal costs associated with acquiring paternity. Adoption in the USA, like so many things, is made into a business.

I'm so disgusted to read the price. It means 1) less children will be adopted 2) only the wealthy can afford to adopt.

Sometimes I read about the USA and wonder why people aren't rioting every day there. I thought it was supposed to be a country based on liberty.
