A Book Idea

I'm not a reader. I hate reading anything but reference type books. However, I've considered writing a book of my own - many times over the years. (I would probably use a ghost writer because it wouldn't get finished otherwise)... Anyway, I'm trying to Guage two things. 1. Would the "Life of an online activist" be a good/ interesting perspective for a book? 2. Would anyone be interested enough to buy it?

People would be interested for sure. As long as you are very discriptive or have a nice easy flowing rhetoric you are fine. I would read it.

Thanks, Lizzie... what about biographical, personal background and personal history stuff?

My dilemma is this, I think everyone has a story to and everyone's stories are somewhat interesting to me...

But would I buy their book or want to set down and read it for days on end?

Usually not.

It all depends on how you word it. Someone will always read your book. Many books published today are personal and have life accounts of traumatic or inspiring events. I would read it. Writing a book is hard. I am writing a story and it's really hard.

Online activist? No, no one wants to here about an internet tough guy who hasn't accomplished anything.

He accomplished alot. It would help if you guys stop pushing his head in the toilet when he talks.

Meh....

Am I just an "internet tough guy who hasn't accomplished anything?"

Or am I person who was inspired by the works of people like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King and other defenders of rights - to try to identify problems in our society where I might be able to raise awareness and make a difference too?

You like great people, good for you.

to try to identify

Kind of implies you didn't accomplish anything.

Independently, even if it is not you, I believe that's what people will see the title as, and since you haven't accomplished anything yet, the contents of the book will also be lacking, which will show in book reviews. No offense intended. Internet activist sounds like internet tough guy. Internet implies anonymity.

A book about an online activist... makes me bored just thinking about it.

Same here. It's not my thing.... but if enough others are interested and might buy it? Why not?

Wouldn't you rather write about something you find interesting?

You need to put dragons in it. People like dragons.

:)

I like that! Especially that old painting of the guy on a horse spearing that dragon.... I can relate to him. :)

I don't read those type of books, but I'm sure their's a market for it.
