The doctor has every "right" to save the mothers "life". Let's say she has 3 other kids that need a mother ... Let her die??? Leave THEM without a mother at the very time THEY need her most??? Place a higher burden on a grieving father to make ends meet while trying to earn a living and be BOTH mother and father?? Been there, done that! I would do it over again to save my wife! Side: Die

First of all a woman who has been raped can simply go down to the hospital to get a pill to prevent conception. If she chooses not to do this simple thing, and then finds out later her life is in danger, she is allowed life of mother abortions(no restrictions on life of mother exceptions). I guarantee you that this person who created this debate would REFUSE to support a compromise abortion law that allows all the extreme case abortions but would prevent the vast vast vast majority of abortions done purely to get rid of the Baby for any reason. Of course dying from from a high risk pregnancy has nothing to do with being raped, but pregnancy complications can set in regardless of the circumstances pertaining to any pregnancy. Due to the the backward religious superstitions of the Roman Catholic Church a woman died after being ''refused'' an abortion at a Galway hospital in Ireland.Ms. Savita Halappanaver who was a 31 year dentist was told by staff at the University Hospital, Galway that ''this is a Catholic county and the law is we cannot abort while the foetus has a heartbeat''. Even though she pleaded with the religious freaks to abort the pregnancy they did not listen to her nor her husband. The woman died along with the foetus shortly after the eye-watering religious intransigence of the ''caring profession'', bit of an oxymoron there. This of course was not a due to a rape but a pregnancy resulting from a loving relationship and Mr. and Ms, Halappanaver were overjoyed at the prospect of having their first baby. However, after experiencing excruciating pains and vaginal discharges she knew something was seriously wrong and begged for an abortion. After an inquiry by the Irish Health Service Executive they concluded that the hospital was aware of the almost certain death of Ms., Halappanavar if the pregnancy was allowed to continue. Had this clever lady had been in a civilized country which did not permit religious hocus pocus to influence such a life and death decision she would be alive today. Such shocking ''death sentences'' are handed down to countless woman, ( SOME OF WHOM MOST DEFINITELY ARE RAPE VICTIMS) in countries where religion plays a part in making the law making process. If there is a hell, which unfortunately there isn't, I would wish with all my heart that the pious religious paedophile dirtballs and sanctimonious filth who oppose abortion regardless of the circumstances would roast there. I know of women who have made that choice after being told childbirth would probably kill them.....and they lived and raised their babies. Some women have made the choice and died to let the child live. The Bible calls the maternal instinct "natural affection". It is unnatural for a woman to kill her baby to save her own life. It is natural for a woman to give her life to protect her baby. Side: Die
