I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I just read about someone calling someone else and a$$hole and my brain went into free association again and it came up with "homosexuals love a$$holes." ;)

Well, you could have evoked the rule on the first argument. Why didn't you? It was totally under your control to evoke that rule. I acknowledge that it is very difficult (at best) to try and change another human being. I thus try (my best) to change myself and work around other people. I try to do what is under my control and avoid messing with things that are outside my control. Here's a small sample of things that are out of my control. Points on CD: People are unpredictable. Some find me funny, others not and the rules for upvoting are not clear and always under attack. Global Warming: I drive a fuel efficient car and there's nothing I can do about the other people on the road. Even so, I have advocated reducing the human population. The sun: It rises on the East (not the west) and there's nothing I can do about that so.... Here's a small sample of how I would change myself if I were in this situation: Gay Marriage: I would recognize that the rights granted by gay marriage is the most important thing and would bypass the religious right by making sure a civil union has the same rights as a heterosexual marriage. I wouldn't try to get the religious right to accept gay marriage. Now, I'm not saying I'm right in my belief system. I am simply pointing out what my belief system is so that you better understand me if that is your desire.
