"The Bible openly declares the final point of the end of the age."
The Bible also declares that Jesus would come back before the apostles died, but they've been dead for 2000 years. That means there will be no rapture, therefore your statement that "after the rapture Muslims and Atheists will have WWIII" will never happen.
“For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds. Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.“ Matthew 16: 27, 28
It doesn't say he'll come back in their lifetime, per your own provided verse. They did see him coming with power before they died. Where do you think we got the prophecies about what his return would be like... (Their dreams and visions about his return, so they did see it.)
This verse is also interpreted by many to mean "people standing HERE", emphasis on "HERE", meaning he's talking about people in the future at the rapture of the church.
And others still yet, say it means his death and resurrection and ascension into Heaven of which they did witness.
And the people making these interpretations are theologians well versed in the entire Bible and Biblical eschatology, not militant atheists who found Atheist apologetics sites that quote mine, leave out context, and some times flat out lie on purpose to indoctrinate kids into the cult of Atheism.
"Where do you think we got the prophecies about what his return would be like... (Their dreams and visions about his return, so they did see it.)"
That's some world class mental gymnastics you're doing there. That's the same trick the Mormons try to pull. At the beginning of the Book of Mormon there are signatures of people who claimed to have seen the golden plates. After further investigation of historical documents we discover that they didn't actually see them in real life, like the church leadership has claimed all of these years, but they saw them in a vision.
"This verse is also interpreted by many to mean "people standing HERE", emphasis on "HERE", meaning he's talking about people in the future at the rapture of the church."
Funny how there are so many different interpretations. Apparently god is incapable of communicating clearly.
That interpretation completely ignores the context. It says "some standing here", not "some who will be standing here some day in the distant future." Let's take a look at the other translations.
KJV "There be some standing here"
NKJV "there are some standing here"
NASB “there are some of those who are standing here...”
Notice how they all translate it as the people who are standing there, not people who will be standing there in the future. There would be absolutely no reason for him to mention people standing there in the future, but there would be a good reason to mention the people currently standing there.
I guess all those Bible scholars got the translation wrong, but you somehow got it right. I guess you should create your own Bible translation and enlighten the world.
"They did see him coming with power before they died."
Once again you're taking it out of context, which is exactly what you accuse atheists of doing. If you read the whole thing it says, "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds." It's clearly talking about the rapture, not his ascension. To say otherwise is just doing ridiculous mental gymnastics because you don't want to accept the fact that he isn't coming back.
I'm not a fan of the KJV myself, but many Christians refuse to read any other version. Many words back then have very different meanings today, plus some of the newer translations take into account the tens of thousands of Biblical manuscripts that have been found since the KJV was written.
Whenever there is confusion about a word in the Bible, I use www.BlueLetterBible.org. After searching for a verse, if you click the Tools button next to the verse, it takes you to the original Hebrew or Greek word along with the English version. Then, if you click on the Strong's number (the number with a G or H in front of it), it will show you all of the uses of that word in the Bible, as well as all of the verses with it in it. It sure beats the old days of manually flipping though a stack of books, like Strong's Concordance, like I had to do before the internet existed. I guess I'm showing my age with that comment.
Yes, if nothing else, meanings have changed. For example, this is from the preface, (from memory)
This edition is translated such that even the most vulgar can read it.
Now, if someone doesn't understand how the meaning of "vulgar" has shifted through the years, he won't know what it means. (It means informal or common.)
I search the verse generally, and it takes me to BibleHub most of the time.
Well, yes, you are. Seems like you aren't as little as you'd have us believe.
The social misfit fails to read the passage in the Bible, which is immediately followed by Jesus taking Peter, James, and John up into the mountain where He was transfigured before them and shined like the sun; Jesus showed them His glory fulfilling His promise that some standing with Him would see Him coming in His glory before they died.
Don't let these mindless atheists who have been spoon fed talking points which they are ignorant about pretend like they know things they don't know. All they do when they through this mindless garbage out their is show their own ignorance and intellectual laziness.
I already explained this to you in a previous debate, but apparently you're too thick-headed to get it. I even underlined it in my response to Brontoraptor. I guess I have to spell it out for you.
The passage says, "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will >>THEN<< repay every man according to his deeds." When is THEN? It's when he comes in the glory of his father with his angels. What is he supposed to do at that time? Repay every man according to his deeds. Did he repay every man according to his deeds when they went up into the mountain? NO, so it's clearly not talking about that. You're just too stubborn to admit that Jesus was a phony and isn't coming back.
You have not explained how you became a misfit. Were you molested so you felt smeared at the core and now you try to get even by hating God, His word, and Christians? Don't bother answering me...but you might want to answer if you care about what others think of your comments.
Typical, you're unable to come up with a valid counter-argument, so you just resort to being an ass. I need your address. I want to send you a book.
"You have not explained how you became a misfit."
Are you not intelligent enough to understand that it's just a user name? You must think Cartman is really a cartoon character, and that Brontoraptor is really a cross between a Brontosaurus and a Velociraptor, and that you're a Saint.
"Were you molested"
No, I've never been molested. Molestation and sodomy seems to be all you can think about. Why is that? Were you molested as a child, or are you the one doing the molesting? I know you fantasize about molesting Jesus all the time, but I really hope you haven't been diddling little boys.
You are hard headed, you are bound and determined to reject reason which contradicts your pride, you could know the truth but you won't because you don't want to repent of your sin, it's a waste of time to try to follow your never ending rabbit trails of the confusion you prefer over simplicity of truth.
You want darkness and you have it. You are literally asking to be separated from God forever and bringing the fire of Hell on yourself. Throw yourself into a bonfire and have a taste, see how you like it......then think about where you are going and see if you still remain as you are, uncaring about your uncertainty. You probably won't believe the fire of Hell is as described here until you find yourself unable to get out of it. Enjoy your sin while you can, misfit.
Actually it says he won't come back until the gospel is preached across the entire world, there is a mass falling away from the faith, a beast system arises, and the world becomes like Sodom and Gomorrah. The Atheist apologetics sites will always fail you on this point. Trust me, I've read them all...
Pointing to other verses doesn't make the verse I posted go away. It creates a contradiction, a contradiction that I can easily resolve, but you can't without twisting what it says and ignoring the context.
"it says he won't come back until the gospel is preached across the entire world"
They didn't know how big the world was. They thought the only people that existed were Noah's descendants.
"there is a mass falling away from the faith"
It doesn't say mass falling away, it just says apostacy. The word apostacy just means forsake or falling away. You're exaggerating by adding the word "mass" in there. The exact same word is used in Acts 21:21 "...you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses..." Plus, there is no reason to think people couldn't fall away before the apostles died. There, contradiction resolved. Let's see you resolve it without ignoring the context and twisting what it says.
"a beast system arises"
Why can't a beast system arise before the apostles died?
"and the world becomes like Sodom and Gomorrah."
The verse doesn't say that. It says, "they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying." Not a day has gone by since Jesus supposedly said that when that wasn't the case.
Obama hated waging war. His saying that would be merely a hope.
Even IS now knows that it's dying. They have put things in place to inspire the next wave, which would generally take about 40 years though I'm not sure what happens with government censorship across the world, except that it'll be longer.
You can't wash your sin away you dirty dog...no matter what you wash in, it remains with you and holds you in death and is taking you down to Hell. I know you love it more than life, so you might as well enjoy yourself as much as you can while you can, Amen?
WWIII may come before the rapture. Christians in America have neglected their freedom and ability to keep their country on a path honoring God, and you could not blame God for allowing judgments of trial to fall on our nation before the rapture. We're spoiled in America, and so many Christians have gone into friendship with the world dancing to their tunes and singing their songs and watching their shows and cheering their sports and drinking their drinks while they heap up teachers to tickle their ears as they lay up their treasures on earth........
I do hope the rapture comes before America falls, I hope the trumpet sounds tonight and we are called up out of here. There is way of knowing Christians will be spared from WWIII, It may or may not come before the rapture. Things could get so bad before the rapture that many will think it is the Great Tribulation.
WWIII is already started anyways, everybody is either fighting or fighting and lining up for bigger fights. The Muslims have already started WWIII as they believe a worldwide bloodbath is necessary to usher in their Mookdi or whatever they call their Messiah......who will be the Anti-Christ
