No one on earth can prove or disprove that ANY god exists. But there are those who believe and those who don't. Atheists, like myself, believe that there are no gods. Period. No higher beings, no watchers, or caretakers. But we only believe that because it is the only thing that makes sense. If there was an actual logical and reasonable religion, nearly every single atheist would convert in a heartbeat. Just like Agnostics. Except, Agnostics think they feel a power greater than theirs. And so, I say Agnosticism is basicaly Atheism, and there by being the only neutral position.

An agnostic is someone that claims it is impossible to know whether god exists, which is the opposite of a gnostic who is someone who believes that it is possible to know that god exists (and that he does exist).

Most atheists are agnostic, and some religious people are agnostic, but to claim that agnostic is somehow a neutral position would be false, especially if you mistakenly assume that being agnostic is somehow in-between religious and agnostic.

The whole idea that taking the middle path is the neutral one is a fallacy as well.

Agnosticism isn't fence-sitting or holding both sides with respect, it is the simple admission that we cannot know some things (in this context god).

Many atheists are admitted agnostics in the strict sense, but accept that there is no god with as much knowledge and certainty that one would use to decide on other topics.
