Alcohol vs. Tobacco

Cigarette advertising has been banned on TV for a long time, yet, ads for alcoholic beverages continue to flood the airwaves even on a Sunday afternoon ballgame where children watch those beer commercials. Alcohol attributes to drunk drivers causing  fatalities, and alcohol also leads to domestic violence.

Question:  Is it time to equalize the stigma attributed to death and smoking with the stigma associated with alcohol and death and remove TV ads glorifying the consumption of beer and other alcoholic beverages?

Both should be banned as they both ultimately cause the most hospital bed stays

The adverse health effects from tobacco and alcohol exceed all other health issues

Adverse behavioural problems simply add to the equation.

The alcohol lobby is huge. It also has the support of the agriculture lobby (wheat, also even huge-r-er). Maybe someday...

We should also do something about bathrooms and sharp or heavy furniture. Still #1 for young-ish people.

Neither should be banned, as it is to the consumers discretion in deciding the impact such a commercial has. Also, these commercials aren't played on children's television networks.
