No. Cultural relativism is fucking idiotic. Western culture shits on middle eastern culture in almost every way. Sure there are some aspects of cultural comparisons that are totally arbitrary. For example sitting in a chair to eat vs kneeling on the floor. Theres no real indicator of what is better so i guess japanese culture and western culture are "equal" in that way. But if there are enough discrepancies where one culture is clearly superior then yes absolutely calls it like you sees it.
So tell me Progressive would you want to live in a Middle Eastern country when all those Middle Eastern's are leaving their countries ? You Progressives live by your ideology that's all you have and that's all you know !

It seems that most people do understand that culture can have a truly detrimental impact on people. But as soon as culture is indicated as part of the problem, the person who cites culture is often shut down as bigoted. And this argument is also generally accepted.
Hey look, I'm not trying to put down any culture, and in principle I agree they all have something of merit. But things aren't equal just because we say we want them to be. The Chinese have an amazing, unique, and ancient culture, which has contributed many things to the world. With all due respect to third world African nations like the Congo they have neither had the world impact nor are their common practices like forced adult female circumcision, rapes, etc, something to hold as "of value".

Different cultures produce a variety of valuable things from food to music and art. But some cultures are destructive. Street and motorcycle gangs have a culture of crime and violence. ISIS has a culture as worthy of eradication as was the Nazi culture.
People need to be reminded of this sometimes. Especially when discussing negative sub-cultures that the larger culture should wish to change.
Some are bigger cultures, some are smaller. Some are stronger, some are weaker. They do not hold the same value, but they should all be respected despite differences.

I can absolutely say that I do not respect members of ISIS, viking raiders, street gang enforcers, Nazi SS, and the Khmer Rouge. These are people whose culture includes irredeemably disdainful acts.
If someone is a rampaging murderer/rapist/pillager, such as a viking raider, but that person is cool to hang out with and nice to talk to, I still have no respect for that person based on a key feature of what they engage in regularly.
They were trying to breed a master race. The process was already begun. They selected several hundred of women who they thought represented the Aryan ideal. These women were treated like royalty. They had huge dachaus in the Bavarian countryside . Hitler lived women. Eva Braun was worshipped.

Some cultures... Specifically the Caucasian ones, are simply more advanced and have better technology, better science, including medical knowledge, and just are more capable of governing. I have always agreed with the view on this subject of that of one of my favorite writers, Rudyard Kipling.
He was defending the Brits colonization and rule of India back in the 19th century. And he said, rightly, I believe, that some lesser cultures just need to be looked after.

Look what happened in Africa after apartheid was eradicated. All those tribal warlords went on genocidal and ethnicidal killing sprees. The hutus and the tsutsis. Darfur, Rwanda, Ethiopia. The Sudan.
I think there are some cultures that resonate more with some people, especially if it matches their views. I don't agree with the views some cultures have on women but that's not to say that somewhere in there they don't have interesting ideas and beliefs in a different subject. Each can have a good point and a bad point. They aren't equal but that's not exactly a bad thing.
