Am I making a point in my arguments with this guy

to protect the person's identity, I'll call him Z. Z sent me a message on youtube saying: " Sura 2:106 cancels out the peacful verses. Allah said so. you are commanded to follow the suras of medina, when the islamic calender begins, and go the path of Muhammed from that point unless any suras do not contradict the last 8 years of the teachings of Allah's religeon."  I replied to this by saying : verse 2:106- "we do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten, except that we bring forth better than it or similar to it. do you not know that Allah is over all things competent?" I would like to know how this cancels the peaceful verses. all it says is that God does not cause a verse to be forgotten but we will bring forth a better one, it does not say forget the earlier verse. For example, Allah challenges the unbelievers in verse 52:33 and in verse 52:34 to produce something like the Holy Koran. the challenge is made easier, "bring ten chapters like it" (verse 11:13) then he makes the challenge even easier,  "bring one chapter like it" (verse 10:38)   . does this mean that verse 11:13 does not matter any more and we should only follow verse 10:38? no. it is like the challenges are in different levels, easy, meduim or hard.  it is like when you tell someone who you think is an expert poet to complete the earlier challenge, then you realize he is  a bad poet and you give him the easier challenge. that does not mean the harder challenge does not apply. and no where in the Koran does it say that if you have two contradicting passages, the newer one supersedes the older one. suppose such a verse indeed exists, that does not mean that the peaceful passages contradict the non-peaceful passages, they were revealed in different times in different scenarios, dealing with different kinds of people. for example, verse 2:256-"there shall be no compulsion in (accepting) religeon" but this does not contradict verse 9:5 which says" but when the forbidden months are past, then kill the polytheists whereever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them in every place of ambush, but if they establish prayer and give zakat, let them go on their way. Indeed, Allah is forgiving and merciful". Why do these verses not contradict each other? because these are of different scenarios, one in which the pagans continue to break their peace treaties (this is mentioned in chapter 9) and the other one is simply not forcing Islam on normal people who are minfing their own business and are not attacking others.

So not only does the verse which tells Muslims to forget older, contradicting verses not exist. The peaceful passages and non-peaceful don't contradict each other due to different scenarios and different kinds of people."

and after all this listing of verses and evidence which back up my statement, Z calls me; "an apologist dick snot" and gives no real rebuttal to my arguments.

Do my arguments make me an apologist who dances around the argument? Even with the verses and logic which back my rebuttals up? Is it me or Z who does not give proper arguments?
