Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO)
In my country (England) we have anti-social behaviour orders for people who are extremely anti-social. Some people do not want to have one of their records, whereas some people think that it is cool.

They can negatively influence people's lives, and if they deserve it, then why not give it to them? If the individual does not care either way then that is their problem for not recognising what an idiot they have been to gain an ASBO. I think that they will at least notice how it has influenced their life if they are turned down from something on the basis of their ASBO. I think that unless someone is exceptionally stupid, they will realise later in life what a mistake they have made. 334 days ago | Side: Keep them
Does it? Some people like the idea of ASBOs because they believe that it makes them look rebellious, personally, I can't see it. Who likes the idea of being anti-social? It would be especially bad if you had one and were applying for a job that required sociability. 332 days ago | Side: Get rid of them

Use the word "grass" offensively, get slapped with an ASBO. Have too loud an orgasm in the "privacy" of your own home, get slapped with an ASBO. Be too sarcastic, get slapped with an ASBO. Spit in public, get slapped with an ASBO. These are just four examples of the uncountable number of times that they have been used in a totalitarian fashion. They are ridiculous; they criminalize legal behavior and ought not be tolerated. 334 days ago | Side: Get rid of them
ASBO is to encourage cultural uniformity. It allows the government to go after people who aren't normally criminals for the good of society. No surprise that it was passed by the labor party. I will say, however, that many things covered by the ASBO is also illegal in the States (like public sex and littering). But things like racism and begging are also considered Anti-Social, and I find it tyrannical to criminalize a beggar or a racist. In general, though, I find most things that are unlawful just an infringement on personal freedoms. This includes public sex. 334 days ago | Side: Get rid of them
