Are Christians afraid of the truth?
I don't think they are afraid of the truth. I think many are firmly set in their ways and don't want to change, I think many are bull headed and stubborn but I think most just want to live a good life and worship their God. You raise an interesting point though, why is the bakery different than the fashion designer. Hm. Honestly I'm on the fence with what happened with the bakery to begin with. Businesses can decide who to conduct business with in certain circumstances, but I don't believe personal opinion should be one, neither should religion. They entered into a business knowing that they will be catering to the public so they need to take all aspects of it. The fashion designer though...hm, what's really the difference between not catering to someone due to religion and not catering to someone due to political affiliation? It's an interesting question. what's really the difference between not catering to someone due to religion and not catering to someone due to political affiliation? The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects discrimination due to religious beliefs, many states (23) prohibit discrimination due to sexual orientation (including Oregon), but there are only a few cities in the country that have a law prohibiting it due to political affiliation. 1

No! Our whole religion is formed around truth. We think that what is in the Bible is the only true truth and that anything that contradicts it is from the devil. We are afraid of the lie that people are convinced is the truth. think of this: All of a sudden, all the people that you know think that murdering somebody is completely OK. they think that it is the truth to murder people that you don't like. and then they ask you if you are afraid of this "truth" that breaking the law is fine. We are afraid of the LIE and what it is doing to you. We think that what is in the Bible is the only true truth And how do you demonstrate that the Bible is indeed true? and that anything that contradicts it is from the devil. The Bible endorses rape, slavery and murder. It teaches women to be quiet. they think that it is the truth to murder people that you don't like. There are many instances in which god himself committed mass genocide, even including targeted attacks of infants. The Bible is also filled with examples of when god says it's okay to murder (homosexuals, all sex outside of marriage, using god's name in vain, disobeying your parents, sex with your sister in-law (though sex with your biological sister seems to be okay), breaking the sabbath; it even teaches those who simply don't believe should be put to death.). I will agree some of these acts are wrong, but to be punished by death? That's even more immoral. We are afraid of the lie that people are convinced is the truth. think of this: The example you give is pure hyperbole and no one would be convinced it is okay. We don't need religion to know murder is wrong, in fact - as demonstrated above - a lack of religion may be most beneficial. Islam is just as convinced that THEIR guide is "true"! There is NOTHING BUT your Bible that says that it is true. Any Muslim can say "Our whole religion is formed around truth." and they would be as correct as you. Mark Twain said: "In religion and politics, people's beliefs and convictions are, in almost every case, gotten at second hand and without examination." If we examine the "truths" in the Bible, Qur'an, or any other religious guide, we find they contradict themselves on all subjects. The Bible AND the Qur'an BOTH say that "murdering somebody is completely okay", as long as you do it with religious convictions! The LAW has to be made outside religious conviction, or it would be brutal to anyone with a different belief! My statement is not just about Christians but about EVERY religion which believes it alone is the only way... When you subscribe to one set of beliefs and refuse to consider any other possibility you have closed your mind and are the very definition of afraid of the truth. In comparison, if you simply mostly believe a set of beliefs but are still willing to openly consider other possibilities, and in the end keep coming back to your core set of beliefs, then you would be a religious person who is NOT afraid of the truth. I respect Christians, or Muslims, or anyone, who has a strong view but still doesn't squelch others from questioning or challenging or disagreeing. I thoroughly disrespect the ones who simply declare everyone else is a degenerate going to hell and then bans any writing that is not lock step in line with their religious beliefs. if you simply mostly believe a set of beliefs but are still willing to openly consider other possibilities, and in the end keep coming back to your core set of beliefs I would question why they keep going back to their core set of beliefs. If you are open to other possibilities how could you not find information that - if you're honest with yourself - would force you to question your beliefs? 1

What fool does not know that Progressives want the laws to go their way only. Christians nd Conservtives and most thinking human beings understnd that WE ALL have a right to pick and choose what our private business chooses to cater depending on our own beliefs. Of course a Black family owned business should never be forced to cater a KKK convention, or a Jewish family business forced to cater a Nazi convention, or a prolife family owned business forced to cater a pro abortion convention, or visa versa, or a Christian family owned business forced to cater a Gay wedding reception. THIS IS COMMON SENSE FOR ANY THINKING PERSON, but Progressives do not care about common sense. They care about forcing their iedology on all Americans no matter your beliefs. They try to force EVERY public school to allow boys in girls bathrooms NO MATTER THE OPPOSITION OF THE PARENTS OF THOSE GIRLS!! ARROGANT FOOLS! |
