Humans are inherently social creatures. People like and need to connect with others. However, our society has become too complex for us to feel welcome in our geographical networks. So, we resort to virtual social networks. This meets many essential survival needs like affection, acceptance, love, and reciprocity. Side: Good

What SADA is telling us is absolutely agreeable. There are benefits and disadvantages to everything. In this debate, there are both benfits and disadvantages of social networking sites. And in our opinion, if Social networking sites are going to allow us to communicate with people who we do not even now, I believe that there is a need to restrict this and this is totally bad. Facebook, Newsfeed allows us to read posts written by our friends' friends. If they come up to you and try to talk to you, all you do is answer to it and communicate with each other. However, if this falls into the wrong hole, KABOOM!! your life would be miserable. It is rather better to stay away from people you don't know and social networking sites are sites that make you do that. Side: Good
Yes, it does. But the fact is Social networking sites do allow the fast spreading news on the Internet. However, if one rumor comes up and that is written facebook or Twitter, that rumor spreads around the world in less than an hour. And if this rumor is proved as a lie, that rumor may even lead to the suicide or mental harm to another. Side: Bad

I think if you can keep your wits about you it's a very good thing, BUT if you're a newbie, watch your step on-line. There are an enormous amount of people using the Internet to socialize today and many of them are good and honest people. There are some, however, that don't fit the "nice" description at all. Get into a game room or a place you can chat lightly, like here on CD. Stay away from the chat rooms themselves because that's where you'll find the most trouble. Remember that people are not always who they say they are and that can set up a trap that's difficult to get out of. Keep it light and keep it right. Side: Good
Social networking sites are a respite for those who toil in the office for 8 hours a day. it is an outlet for emotions and helps people overcome stress... People update their profiles on a regular basis, which helps the employer to know about their employee's personality and also any emotional or personal trouble he/she might be going through. This will help him to utilize their potential to the maximum. Side: Good
There are advantages of social networking sites and indeed it allows us to communicate with a wide variety of people and also allows us to make friedns online. That would not be a problem at all. But what is happening around the world is normally due to the increasing popularity of Social Networking sites. Murder, rape and so on sometime happen due to friends that are made through Social networking sites. If those were to be the results of social networking sites, what is the necessity and what is so good about Social networking sites? If there is a problem, we should solve it but what social networking sites are doing to the society is death and wrong realtions between people who don't know each other. Side: Bad
Although social networking sites may have bad profiles, it also contains good features. Ultimately, what is at stake here is that social networking sites give opportunities for people to speak out loud simultaneously guaranteeing the anonymity of the person. Furthermore, it provides a chance for people to introduce themselves to the world and make friends and relationships between people around the world. Side: Good
Yes, people have the opportunity to speak out loud, that is absolutely true. Is introducing ourselves to the society good? Introducing ourselves on social networking sites actually lead us to the exposure of identity to the users of SNS. If that is going to lead to such problems, why use it? Side: Bad

People whine and whine about the government having too much information about them. They wont give their phone number to a cashier at the Bed Bath and Beyond. They bitch and moan about google street view showing their cat in their window. ...Then they post their entire life history, their phone number, and a million pictures of their cat on their facebook. Whatever, y'all. Side: Bad
Because more and more people are using Social Networking sites, they socialize only through the Internet, and begin to lose their abilities to talk to people face to face. Ever since the beginning of time, people have, for the most part, interacted face to face, and that's the way it should be. Side: Bad
I feel that because of social networking sites people spend a lot of time on surfing sites rather than spending time with people and even you dont know that the person you are talking to is actually what is claims to be moreover there is a lot problems in studies of the students as they are mostly seen chatting with their frnds on net as it is said 'everyone likes to use facebook, but no one likes to face the book......' There is no sure way to know that the person you are talking to is who they say they are. These sites make it easy for predators to prey on naive people. According to The Los Angeles times, 900,000 sex offenders were MySpace members. The fact that there are individuals with bad intentions out there who spend their time trying to lure people in through false identities, puts everyone in great danger. Side: Bad

There are so mnay problems that Social Networking Service Sites come up with. 1. Anonymity-No name, wrong identity 2. Privacy Protection-SNS less protection 3. Cyber Bullying-People bully each other on SNS 4. Identity Theft-People steal others' identity 5. Addiction-Disturbs Academics and work 6. False Info and Wrong Info spread fast And so on Side: Bad
Frequent use of these sites can lead to not being social at all. I use twitter (aqwman2 btw) and I've seen the stuff it can do. The user can eventually get addicted to them as easily as alcohol or tobacco. I use twitter, but not very frequently. Some people have actually found a way to make their profile picture on Facebook look like someone else. Good luck topping THAT. Side: Bad

Social networking sites are bad because they can cause shortened attention spans, cause you to lose interpersonal communication skills and are addictive. Social media has become a huge part of our society. Everything has an app, website, Twitter or Facebook page. Although convenient and entertaining, social media is now becoming harmful. Based on information available at socialtimes.com, the average attention span has dropped from 12 minutes to 5 minutes. When there are sudden changes in our environment our bodies release adrenaline and Oxytocin is released in our brains during social interaction these both can cause addictive behaviors in social media settings. Oxytocin is the hormone that is responsible for stimulating trust and empathy. Most times it is released during face to face social interaction. Social networking gives the same affect as though we were talking to family and friends face to face. The only problem is people prefer the social network rather than actually spending time with family and friends. This lowers your ability and, want to carry on everyday normal conversations. I don't believe that its the social network sites themselves that are bad, we should start to not spend so much time entertaining these sites and interact more with one another face to face. New research suggests that heavy social media use might be correlated to lower self-control, which marketing experts believe could lead to higher spending. "Ultimately, the way you counteract this is by raising your self-awareness,” Columbia University Professor Keith Wilcox told TODAY. “It's not about don't spend time on Facebook, but just be aware of what it might be doing to you."
