Side: Super Stores

Superstores like Best Buy have practically put all of the individual camera stores out of business. Such a shame!

Everything that happens to a business is because of the customers, so the super stores aren't killing shit.

If the people all shopped at the small business and the super store had to close down a branch, it wouldn't be the fault of the small business for all those people at the superstore losing their job.

I'm not a rich man by any stretch, but I avoid superstores like the plague simply because they smell bad, the people there annoy me, and I can't find anything. I'll pay an extra buck or two to avoid that.

So I think both have their place. The problem doesn't lie in the existence, but in unfair practices levied by their political influence because of the amount of money they can pour into special interest groups.

So any problem is from a political perspective, and should only be changed as such I would think.

That's a good point. And a lot of the time the people stink. (; Or look like they just got out of jail.

If I'm just gunna get some camping gear I will be cheap and go to wall'mart. But if I'm going to get a bike, I would rather go to some bike shop where the people actually know about bikes, and can give me advice. So it depends on the product.

Well yeah it's the consumers fault, thats obvious. Because without the consumer they superstore wouldn't be super for very long. The question is: Is this a bad thing?

It's the classic story. The folksy small town business gets taken down by some big bad evil company. Hollywood loves that crap.

Yeah it sucks for the small business people, I guess if you want to start a business your just gunna have to start thinking of new ideas.

But for consumers, it can really be more convenient. Think of all the time you can save with a place like wall-mart. You got your fishing gear, guns, clothes, plasma screen tv, stake, patio furniture. All in one place! I'm glad wall-mart makes a killing, they deserve it. It's capitalism at it's best.
