Are The I Love Boobies Bracelets Wrong For Middle Schoolers?

Keep in mind that all profits go to a great cause & they are showing an interest in a world problem. If you don't already know, the I Love Boobies bracelets are bracelets created to spread breast cancer awareness. I saw a teacher at my school take them away from a kid because she thought it was offensive. Is this right?

Governments and other "authorities" have (or should have) no place deciding what people can wear.

Symbolic speech is allowed in schools. Tinker v. Des Moines

I don't think that they are wrong because they support a cause and are helping to find a cure for breast cancer. Sure, they are a bit inappropriate but otherwise, nobody would buy them. It is fine for children to wear them.

That's a great marketing ploy, but I don't think it's a good idea to sell/wear them in a school. A lot of middle schoolers are still kids.

What's wrong with breasts? Is vulgar slang going to make the children violent or something?

It's just a word...

Yeah it's "just a word", but some other words in our language include (excuse my language) fuck, shit, nigger, cunt, dick, etc. Yeah, they're all words, but some have insensitive natures, some have insulting natures, and some (like "boobies") are just disruptive in a middle school atmosphere. If you go up to a middle schooler and say something about boobies, he'll probably find it funny. I know I used to laugh at stupid things like that. Just keep them out of schools because they're distracting. I mean, think about middle school health class. The entire period was just full of embarrassing laughter.

That depends entirely on whether or not the middle schoolers in question actually love boobies. Dishonesty is not something that should be taught in out nation's schools.

I support this statement. These 'bracelets' should only be worn by people who do love boobies.

This spells a problem for the confused little boys who like to pretend being straight.

But if they do indeed like to pretend being straight, the bracelets should be right up their alley! They offer a new medium through which to gain acceptance from the heterosexual community: a shared love of all things mammary.

What if we actually love Boobys too? Opposing boobies would only impede our ability to display Booby pride.

Side: totally fine

You said it, they are for support to breast cancer... so if that teacher is that stupid to take away somethinng that is raising awarness they better get smacked in the face with reality...

Plus why the heck did they take it away in the first place... they hve NO right to take away anything.... (stupid) teacher... are powerless to me...

Side: totally fine

I don't think children in Middle School should be wearing such bracelets.
