I do believe there are other beings out there as well as UFO's. Way back in the early 60's Barney and Betty Hill had an actual "hands on" experience with aliens. There is a book about it and also a film. It was titled "Interrupted Journey." and was written by John Fuller. It sure made a believer out of me and I never asked again!

It would more amazing if Earth was the only planet in the entire universe to support intelligent life forms. I mean, come on- what are the odds? Have UFO's visited us? Probably. I do believe you're correct in your thinking as it relates to UFO's and other people being out there somewhere. What I oppose is your question concerning some sort of endangering of our religious beliefs! What has that to do with the question of the debate and is that the only reason people might question UFO's or other beings? I should think that there are many more reasons a person might not believe in or fear UFO's! That certainly does not make them morons! I believe UFO's and alien beings would frighten many people and that fact wouldn't make them morons either. I, for one, would welcome an encounter of such a phenomenon. In fact I envy Barney and Betty Hill's encounter with them so long ago. I kind of wish it were me instead! I say that in the comfort of my library here in Connecticut but it's an abstract thought! In reality, I'd probably run my legs off to get away from them...unless they were serving coffee and donuts! And also guessing they mean from another planet and not the literal meaning, here's some facts; There are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars While no one is sure how many planet each star has, it's safe to say there are more planet than stars.
