Are You For Or Against Vigilante Justice?

I'm all for it. It's often more swift and just than the lengthy court system. Either some guy tracks down a murderer and beats him to a pulp, or he gets arrested, gets a lengthy and costly trial, then costly jail time. It rather kick his ass or execute the death penalty ourselves then waste time and money on these people.

I say...if the vigilante is a moron that only causes more trouble, then arrest them and punish them to the full extent. If the vigilante can get the job done by only capturing and containing the crook until the authorities get there, then I have no problem with it. I like the fact that it's against the law because then people would be less motivated to become a vigilante. It would cause much chaos if just anyone thought they could catch criminals.

I think vigilantism is needed because the cops aren't willing to do what they need to for specific crime but I'm not hating on the cops it is just seeming that they aren't realizing that vigilantism is was keeping cops lower and there offended in the way that they don't think they are legal. Vigilantes are all the same.Would you arrest the arrow, probably, but most people would not arrest a women who dresses up in a costume and helps with the homeless people cause. But you arrest a man who punches a few men in the face with guns pointed at him and he is in a costume. Thank You come again.

Superheroes aside, vigilantism is still a crime. There's nothing preventing those who decided to take the law into their own hand, from abusing their power. With the police (although it fails often) they have rules and restrictions that they must abide by when dealing with any case, but with a regular Joe with a gun, he's just following his gut and can do as he pleases, so long as he avoids the consequence somehow. What I mean is there is a definite penalty for officers, there isn't for vigilantes.

Isn't ordinary self defense vigilante justice? Your argument seems to advocate for individuals giving up their right to self defense in favor of waiting for the state to act on their behalf. Your argument about police being less likely to abuse their power than ordinary individuals because " they have rules and restrictions that they must abide by when dealing with any case, but with a regular Joe with a gun, he's just following his gut and can do as he pleases, so long as he avoids the consequence somehow." ignores the fact that anyone whether they are in the police force of not can act according to the dictates of their conscience and disregard legislation. Not just a little injustice is carried out by police. And who do you think has an easier time avoiding "legal consequences" for unjust action, the common person or someone with the huge advantage of acting under the color of law? What would you do if you were carrying a pistol and saw a cop shooting innocent people? would you stop him with a shot of your own, or call the cops while others were murdered?

I didn't think it was. I see your point.

What side are you trying to prove because it sounds like you care enough to show your worries on to the topic itself. Not even your basic beliefs.
