Are people lying to themselves to feel loved by God? Hello HA: Maybe.. So what? We lie to ourselves ALL the time. I think I'm a catch. It makes me feel good.. Oh, there's no proof that I'm a catch, but you didn't ask about proof.. You asked about feeling good. excon Side: For their point of views
People will use whatever means they have at their disposal to justify their feelings on a particular subject. Even if that means cherry picking or warping the actual meaning. That's why it's important to take a step back every now and then and consider other sides, view ideas from a fresh perspective, and be open minded. If you don't agree with someone you can accept their stance as being one that's different from yours without railing against it and beating them over head because they don't agree with you. (I'm saying "you" as in a general person, not you specifically.) Side: For their point of views

I think if people can feel love today, they'd better take it from whence it comes! I do/did. If a god does it for you, great. If you feel you are NOT lying to yourself, great. I would LOVE to see a "loving god" reveal itself. About now, we REALLY need one! I think I can guarantee he'll not be blonde … with orange skin! Side: For their point of views

The thing you need to understand about most people is that they don't think or reason, they take the path of least resistance. This means they believe what authority figures tell them and what makes them feel secure, their beliefs aren't even about truth to them at the end of the day but rather being accepted by other people and feeling good about themselves.
