Honestly, I personally find it necessary to go out with a liberal/Democrat if I want a romantic relationship with them. Part of this is because I am very attracted to guys who like politics, and so unlike something like religion, it will probably be something that comes up. Anyway, I judge people based on their morals and philosophies more than anything else, and when it comes down to it, somebody's stance on things like welfare, abortion, gay marriage, and nuclear weapons (i.e., admittedly the only political subjects I know anything about) often says a lot about who they are. What kind of relationship? Friend-friend, parent-child, or girlfriend-boyfriend? Well regardless, politics is not a natural subject it is a man-made subject made when man had disputed with each other on government ideas. Since relationships are natural kinds of situations, something as unnatural like politics should not be important at all, and so should religion. Side: No

No. Relationships are made best when you understand each others views but also their potentials and dreams and when you share those then affection begins to escalate. Now political views can be hard to manage but you have the best relationships when political views won't stop you when you truly care for someone. Same thing with religions. I know a few people who date but have completely different spectrums when it comes to religion. My friends date and one is a christian and one is a atheist. They see past that and you can tell they don't mind. They truly care so it wouldn't matter. But then you have succussful relationships when two people are in the same political party so that works too. It shouldn't be a key role in the relationship. "Oh I only like her because she's a republican". Can you imagine hearing that one day? It would be pretty harsh. Side: No
