Of course it is bit extreme at this point in time, but you will agree that people become lazier the less they have to do.
Unless we focus on efforts on something new and work with technology rather than have technology work for us. I understand that for some people, probably most people this is bad, but if people become lazy that was their own choice and people who can be responsible with technology and do not have sit in front of a computer plays WoW 24/7 in their mom's basement should not have to give up their access to technology for others. Also technology may make life easier, however it also makes things better for everyone, medical technology for example. Robots are still a good thing because they can be applied to a lot of good causes. For example they are working on a robot right now to be able to save lives in natural disasters where humans couldn't.

Ohio where I live had to ban texting while driving due to the number of wrecks involving teenagers driving while texting.
Phones are not good for the young adult population as a whole because how we use it, because they are more of a luxury than anything, and teenagers are irresponsible, though for some individuals who know how to use them beneficially, can use it to keep up on research, look stuff up, navigate, and call the police if need be. Though most adults know how to be responsible with a phone and are smart enough to not text and drive.
Society doesn't seem to be able to use technology within reason.
Depends on the technology.
It has become an addiction.
Agreed, however I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with being dependent on technology, it is just humans ways of survival. Like the wolfs teeth, the tigers speed, claws, and slyness, etc. They are all dependent on their means of survival.
