why would people not get it ?i thought it was easy to get .
That's a very good question, but I guess the US government isn't interested in helping people.
what are good enough benefits ?
Good enough benefits are a reasonable amount of money so that people can at least survive, and for a resonable amount of time. The benefits in the US only last for about 20 weeks or so, when experts say that it is necessary to give them for a year, because that is how long it usually takes to find a job that covers your financial expenses. For example, if you had a high paying job and you have an expensive mortgage, then taking just any low paying job won't cover the expenses for your house, which means that you'd be forced to sell it. It is not unreasonable to give people an entire year to find a job.
they should get jobs !
Some families have three jobs, but whatever that's not what we're debating. Like I said before unemployment can hit all people, and if a family is forced to move out of their house because they can't find a job within the 20 weeks of benefits - if they were lucky enough to get it - that can take a big toll on children, and I don't see the reason cutting unemployment benefits when it clearly helps the unemployment rate. That's not even a socialist invention, that's a capitalist invention, because capitalists like their citizens working too ;)
a rational human being .what was he supposed to do, throw away free money ?
1. You can make a system that detects these people.
2. That isn't really a response to my actual argument, which was that I don't see why you should not help people who truly struggle, people with children and diseases to deal with - why should you cut their help because a small amount of people abuse the system?
i agree, we should not create a system, but let people take care of themselves .
You have a system, everyone has a system. Even a country in anarchy has a system, and the system is that people do whatever they please.
Some people aren't able to take care of themselves. That's sad... even sadder that nobody wants to help out.
