Are we a product of nature or nuture?
The Systemma Naturae classified humanity according to their ability to walk, talk and be covered in hair, whereas John Locke's Tabula Rosa argues that we are a blank slate when born, and are simply awaiting knowledge, understanding and content to be poured into us. The feral child case study is a good beginning through which to explore the extent of nature and nurture in influencing who we are.

We are as much products of nature as we are nurture. A large part of our psyche is both created through genetics as well as culture, customs, our parents etc. I think we are born with a specific mindset created by our unique genetics, which is then shaped and moulded by life's experiences and thoughts. |
