Are we the descendents of aliens that took over Earth long ago?

In a manner of speaking, yes. Whatever the original source of biological life may or may not be, it proliferates itself by seeding planets in much the same way a tree seeds the area around it. There is very little scientific evidence about where life on Earth came from exactly, but all of it points towards panspermia. Side: We are

To be clear, I don't believe we are descended from aliens (though it's obviously possible). It does make sense though, that if we were aliens, we would have to be similar to the indigenous life in order to live here. After all, we would choose a planet to settle that could support us and it would therefore be similar to our home-world. We do seem pretty damn different from other mammals though, what with our language and thinking abilities. Side: We are
Do zero animals have communication methods, just us? No. Lot's of animals communicate whether it be by song or dance or physical posing, etc. Granted ours goes far beyond that. But then again we really don't know what animals like whales or dolphins are saying when they do. Do zero other animals think? No. There are many species showing intelligence - and all over the place - land, sea, air. Human beings mainly excel in the arrogance of believing only we are capable of such things. Furthermore, in many animal families there are a specific species scoring far above the rest of the distant cousins. The octopus is genius compared to other molluscs. Crows are compared to most medium to small sized bird species. Why can't we just be the genius example of the primates? It wouldn't necessarily mean none of the others are capable of communicating or thinking. Side: We were first
