Well first we need to establish what is meant when by the phrase "cloning by stem cell." If this means creating another human genetically identical to someone, then no--I'm against that.

But, if it means growing genetically compatible organs, limbs, tissues and cells using cloning and stem cells, then by all means I am FOR it.

It is criminal to allow someone to suffer when we have the technology and knowledge to alleviate their pain.

So, if a person needs a transplant or undamaged brain cells and we can provide these by means of cloning their own cells, we definitely should pursue this therapy.

I'm not sure the author has a solid knowledge of what stem cell research actually entails.

I'm against cloning humans in general, whether it's via stem cells or some other method. I think that this is a very slippery slope for us to go down that could lead to people creating hundreds or thousands clones of themselves to try to take over the world. If you're talking about using stem cells for stopping the onset / progression of degenerative diseases than I am for that. However, I am against using embryonic stem cells from aborted fetus' for this purpose. Luckily new scientific advances allows us to harvest stem cells from adult cells so hopefully the embryonic stem cell debate will go away in the near future.

Find it to be completely unecessary. We are over populated enough with idiot's why do we need to clone them.

Just a question: how viable do you think it would be for "people [to create] hundreds or thousands of clones of themselves"? Those clones, (as far as I know) are generally regarded as independent individuals, so there's not really anything to be gained by one person cloning themselves to take over the world. The only thing they'd share with the clone is the DNA.
